WWE’s Biggest Underutilized Talents: Superstars Who Deserve A Push

5 months ago By Jhon Woug

For years, WWE has been the top plateau for professional wrestling. It offers wrestlers an opportunity to gain exposure worldwide and become international stars. But not every great performer gets their due. With their potential, skill, and charisma, these wrestlers are grossly underutilized, leaving fans—alongside analysts—to question why these superstars are not pushed into the limelight. The review below looks at some of the most underutilized talents in WWE and explains why they genuinely deserve that push to the top.

Cesaro (Claudio Castagnoli)
Cesaro is one of the most consistent performers in WWE, blending his great strength and technical expertise. All things good in the ring aside, though, Cesaro has fallen short of leading event status—the place many believe he deservedly belongs.

Why Cesaro Should Get a Push:
In-Ring Ability: Many would categorically call Cesaro one of the best wrestlers. He consistently turns out quality matches with a delicate balance of power moves, technical aptitude, and stunning athleticism. It has witnessed various great encounters against a mixed bag of opponents to show that streak of versatility.

Fan Connection: While not perhaps the most pushed, Cesaro has developed a sizable fan base. The fact that “Cesaro Section” signs are a mainstay in the arenas attests to it. His work ethic and ring talent resonate with the fans, who constantly clamor for more from the man.

Mic Skills and Charisma: Many times, the promo skills of Cesaro have been panned. However, he has improved a lot in this regard. He did well continuously at the mic recently, proving that he could connect with an audience as much with his words as he could in the ring.

Sami Zayn

Sami Zayn is another fine performer stuck in the middle card. With the energy, charisma, and technical ability, Zayn has all it takes to be one of the top stars.

Why Sami Zayn Should Be Pushed:
Versatility: From sympathetic babyface, if he needs to be, to being an obnoxious heel, Zayn has the magic to excel in either role. He’s that versatile and can leverage this to create different story types for entertaining action in the ring.

Storytelling Ability: Among in-ring performers, Zayn’s most vital quality is his storytelling ability, both inside and outside the ring. His matches have a degree of emotion FU supports, and he can engage an audience in his journey. This storytelling ability is one of the most essential facets of what will make up a top WWE star.

Charisma: There is no denying it in Zayn. Being a figure of immense expectation to bring viewers, there’s something special in how he has connected with fans—through his fiery promos or passionate in-ring performances now.

Naomi
Coupled with athleticism and jaw-dropping entrances, Naomi has been a fan favorite for years. Nevertheless, the name of this talented lady has not been running consistently in the main event picture in the ladies’ division.

Why Naomi Needs a Push:
Athleticism: Naomi is undoubtedly one of the most athletic performers in WWE. The variety of moves executed by her and high-flying attributes definitely set apart quite a few of her peers. She’s vibrant, fast-paced, and full of action—leaving onlookers aghast at what’s happening within the ring.

Charisma and Presence: “Feel the Glow” is uniquely WWE—something only Naomi could pull off. She can engage an audience with an entrance, not to mention in-ring charisma that keeps them on the hook. She has a star presence that should earn her bigger storylines and opportunities.

Connection with the Fans: Naomi has an avid fan base that always supports her. She is a pleasing person who exudes so much optimism, and fans love that about her, making her genuinely adored by the WWE Universe.

Aleister Black (Malakai Black)
It was Aleister Black, now known as Malakai Black in AEW, who had a different aura about him and mysticism that separated him in the WWE. Despite all his potential, he never really found his way into the major storylines and finally got released.

Why Aleister Black Needed a Push:
Unique Character: Black’s dark mystique character seemed interesting and variance for the roster. His visual appearance and persona could have made him a top star if done with the proper storytelling.

In-Ring Skills: With his good striking ability and a martial arts background, Black made for some hard-hitting, not very uneventful matches. He had a style unlike many others, and most people could find attractions in.

Charisma: Black was not the most talkative of superstars, but he had an inborn charisma. There was just something about his aura and the way he carried himself that added mystery to his ever-so-fascinating persona.

Chad Gable
Chad Gable, an ex-Olympian, has all the potential to do great as a tag team competitor and as a singles wrestler, with both opportunities often relegated to mainly the mid-card for some reason.

Why Chad Gable Deserves a Push:
Technical Ability: Among the best in WWE, Gable has a technical wrestling ability. An amateur wrestling background lets him perform moves with precision and fluidity, which makes his matches technically sound and entertaining.

Underdog Story: For Gable, the question of size and stature creates an underdog story. His hard work and dedication make him most sympathetic, and people cheer for him.

Charisma and Personality: Via American Alpha, but more recently, with the comedic work, there have been moments when he has shined through. That said, given an opportunity, Gable can bring out much more in personality and character within a more severe and significant role.

Ricochet
Ricochet is known for his high-flying style and incredible athleticism. Despite all his talents, he has really failed to find some persistence at the top of the roster.

Why Ricochet Should Be Pushed:
Athleticism: Ricochet is incomparable inside a ring, with flying, newer, and more creative performing styles that make for purely electrifying performances. He brings an excitement level matched by very few.

Underdog Appeal: With his smaller stature and never-say-die fighting spirit, Ricochet naturally becomes an underdog to whom a great many can relate. How he overcomes the larger opponents really tells a story.

Cross-Promotion Potential: Ricochet’s style is not only pleasing to the wrestling fans, but in many ways, it’s closest to a much wider audience that enjoys high-flying action. The matches he has come with me to might help attract new viewers.

Shayna Baszler
Shayna Baszler dominated NXT with her MMA background and ruthless in-ring style. However, since stepping onto the main roster, she has been inconsistent, and that potential hasn’t been met.

Why Shayna Baszler Deserves to Be Pushed:
Legitimacy: At the best level, this background will also let Baszler claim legitimacy and credibility that few women can. The hard-hitting style allows her to be believable competition—one worthy of fear.

Character Work: Baszler is excellent as a merciless heel. Regarding character, the work done in NXT proved she could be an upbearing champion for any division.

Name potential feuds: Baszler has giant rivalry potential with Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, and Ronda Rousey. These would help further establish her position while bringing new matchups in the women’s division to the table.

Mustafa Ali
Mustafa Ali has had glimpses of excellence in WWE, most notably with his work in the ring and passionate promos. However, far too often, he has been grossly underutilized.

Why Mustafa Ali Deserves a Push:
In-Ring Innovation: Ali has many innovative and high-flying moves in his matches. As one who could tell a story with his athleticism, he became exceptional.

Charisma and promosAli reveals himself to be an ultra-charismatic speaker. His work details promos that are sincere, honest, and from within, thus engaging relevance in the audience at a deeper level. He has shown to have the flexibility to be the hero but also the complexity of being a character.

Diversity: Ali, being a Pakistani-American, follows a different approach from most WWE wrestlers. That pushes him higher up the card not only to popularize but will also help WWE realize potential attraction benefits, along with representation for underrepresented groups.

Rusev (Miro)
Rusev was an in-ring powerhouse inside of WWE, now re-crafted physicality in AEW as Miro, hinting at potential greatness. For all the popularity held — the “Rusev Day” phenomenon, for example — he was never really pushed as a main event talent.

Why Rusev Deserves a Push:
Charisma: Born with charisma, Rusev is as compelling as a face as a heel. This is seen during “Rusev Day,” where his comedic timing is brilliant, and the writing during this period was tailored to his style of relating to the crowd.

In-ring power: He is a formidable and powerful competitor for Rusev. Most of his matches were hard-hitting, physical-style affairs, which made them entertaining to watch.

Fan Support: Rusev belonged to a very strong following. For most of his matches and segments, the words used to chant by the audience are “Rusev Day,” showing the organic support and absolute proof that he needed a more significant push.

Keith Lee
Having size, strength, and agility, which is a rare mix to have, Keith Lee truly has everything at his disposal to hold top star status in WWE. A successful run in NXT didn’t seem to translate over as easily for him to its main roster.

Why Keith Lee Deserves a Push:
Unique Skill Set: What sets Lee apart from other prominent men in wrestling is his ability to fly high for his size. Every match he has showcases strength alongside agility, making him truly special.

Charisma: Combined with his swagger, Lee exudes charisma from those promos and how he relates to fans. Self-assured and fluent, he makes for a compelling presence on the microphone.

Versatility: Lee can be used both as an ultra-destructive heel and a dominant babyface, which makes him fit inside many storylines and feuds, hence earning his value for designation in any roster.

Liv Morgan
In the past, Liv Morgan has picked up much improvement and potential. Showing more popularity lately with her in-ring work increases, she hasn’t indeed been given a long-lasting push in the women’s division.

Why Liv Morgan deserves a push:
Improvement and Commitment: It is very easy to see that Morgan has dedicated herself to the process of improving in her matches. She has shown great effort in the improvement of her in-ring skills and character work, proving she is ready for more significant opportunities.

Connection with the Fans: Morgan is someone who really connects with the WWE Universe, having that underdog story and a very relatable personality. She earns these more prominent storylines.

Character Potential: Morgan sometimes pegged something interesting, like solo runs. She has a more complex and charismatic character waiting to pop out of her, which might give her an elevated status.

Conclusion
WWE’s roster is filled with a lot of talented superstars who have great potential to be big stars, but they don’t get the opportunity. Wrestlers like Cesaro, Sami Zayn, and Naomi, among others, have regularly proven their worth but continue to remain underused. If WWE were to provide these performers with the push they deserve, it would enhance careers and the overall product, with new and compelling stories to be enjoyed by fans. It is in the best interest of WWE to notice and exploit the potential of these underused talents. After all, the fans will always be on the lookout for new storylines that offer excellent shock value, and it is these superstars who can provide exactly that. Going ahead, unfortunately, spotlighting these talented individuals could put WWE on track toward creating another memory-laden era full of moments and legendary careers.
