WWE Raw Results & Report: Winners, Losers And Analysis – 14 August 2023

1 years ago By Jhon Woug

A lot had been said and written about this week’s edition of Raw, long before it was even televised. Post Summer Slam ,temperatures may have gone down, but rivalries have been re-ignited. 14 August marks the date when the road to Payback has been paved for many Superstars and here is how the Events unfolded.

  1. SETH ROLLINS CONFRONTS NAKAMURA

Seth Rollins came out looking for answers from the King of Strong Style and the Respect shown by The Messiah was as if he were with his elder brother.  He reminded the Japanese how the latter was adored, the world over and how fans would want a match between Monday Night Rollins Vs The King of strong Style. The Messiah extended his hand only to be greeted with another Kinshasa. That challenge was accepted and how.

  • CHAD Gable Vs Giovanni Vinci

Hot property, Chad Gable showcased his skills on the Imperium Member and sent a message straight to their leader who wanted nothing to do with Chad Gable. The Alpha Academy member closed in on Vinci after a physically exhaustive match. The entire match, tensions caused by the Ring General’s presence was evident.

Winner: Chad Gable.

  • GUNTHER VS OTIS

This match may not have been planned but the fans got their moneys worth either way. This match marked two physically dominant Superstars going at each other with high stakes. The fans were on their feet when the Ring General hoisted Otis up for a Powerbomb. A lot has been written about The Imperium Leader’s opponent Chad Gable’s God Given strength. Gunther just wiped that off the slate and wrote his name on it.

Winner: Gunther

  • RIDDLE & DREW MCINTYRE Vs THE VIKING RAIDERS

Matt Riddle approached Big Drew McIntyre and requested him to join Riddle in a tag team match against the Viking Raiders, which Drew McIntyre accepts. In the beginning of the match it was all one way traffic as Ivar and Eric kept Riddle cornered. Double Team action kept Randy Orton’ former tag team partner at bay. With a swift counter, he tags in the Scottish Warrior who evens the playing field. Taking out both Members of the Viking Raiders, The former Royal Rumble winner then hit Eric with a clay more to pick up the win

Winners: Riddle & Drew McIntyre

  • SAMI ZAYN VS JD McDonagh

JD McDonagh started off the match strongly and went after Sami’s already injured elbow.  The match went back and forth with JD looking to finish with the Crossface but Zayn rolled to the ropes. Finn Balor made a surprise appearance and JD almost capitalised with a roll up. The 33 year old Irishman then went to the top rope for a moonsault, only to be countered with a knee. Sami Zayn finished the match with a Helluva Kick and won by pinball.

Winner: Sami Zayn

  • RHEA RIPLEY VS  INDI HARTWELL

The Women’ Champion Rhea Ripley took on Indi Hartwell in a non-title match up on Raw. Mami took control early on in the match courtesy her in ring presence. She keeps charge until she runs shoulder first into a post. The NXT North American Championship, Dirty Dom looks on and tries to keep Mami in the match as Indi mounts an offence of her own. Rhea Ripley then after a close 2 count, hits the Riptide for the win.

Winner: Rhea Ripley

  • TRISH STRATUS VS BECKY LYNCH

A match that could have been the highlight of the evening, sadly missed out on the goodies. The fans had paid good money to see a classic and there were some who were left disappointed by the Man and the Hall of Famer’s match . A match which majorly carried out on the floor and ended in a similar manner with a double count our as both Divas kept fighting it out while the Ref counted till 10. This was more than expected as WWE wants to keep both superstars on a high going into Payback.

Winner : Double Count Out.
