WWE Payback started after immense pyro and glamour with Michael Cole welcoming the fans. The first match saw the divas steel cage match take place.

Becky Lynch was expected to and did win the match against veteran Trish Stratus. Becky Lynch editing the steel cage saw her meet with a series of boos.

The Miz Vs LA Knight
John Cena came in and hyped up the crowd after naming himself the host and special guest referee for the Miz’s match. The quarrel continued between the two as LA Knight’s music hits.
The match gets underway with the Miz having an early momentum and almost hitting the skull crushing finale. The match goes on and The Miz hits his finisher only for the LA Native to raise his hand. At this point the Miz became frustrated and started mocking Cena. Knight hits his finisher and takes the win.

Rey Mysterio Vs Austin Theory
A solid match was expected and the fans got exactly that. Austin theory looked smooth as ever but the veteran instincts and counter after counter got the better of a young Austin Theory who has nothing to be ashamed of .

The Judgement day have of sorts decided to take the WWE by storm. Their one sided domination over the entire roster is a thing that Rookies should take note of. Priest and Balor picked up the victory over one of the most notable tag teams in recent times. It may be noted that Dirty Dom had a role to play with the briefcase.

The much talked about match between Mami and Raquel Rodriguez lived up to the hype. After all the smack that was spoken, Mami had to come back and answer strong; and she did. Again as expected, Dominik Mysterio had a major role to play as he distracted Raquel Rodriguez only for Mami to hit the finisher for the pin fall.

Seth Rollins (c) Vs Shinsuke Nakamura
Now to the big one. A match where the challenger almost destroyed the Champion with vicious kicks, Shinsuke Nakamura looked well prepared to see himself as the champion. But Seth Rollins hit the Stomp after a few pin attempts from both competitors. It will be a long walk home for Nakamura who talked a big game but couldn’t back it up.
