WWE Payback 2023 Result: The Judgement Day Becomes The New Tag Team Champions

2 years ago By Sports Desk

The big question at the Steel City Street Fight for the tag team titles in WWE Payback on Saturday, September 2, 2023, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was whether Damian Priest and Finn Balor could work together and possibly become champions. They were challenging the champions, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, collectively known as The Judgment Day.

Before we delve into the outcome, let’s talk about the match itself. It was a thrilling and entertaining encounter, as is typical in Street Fights. They used various props like kendo sticks, garbage cans, and even terrible towels. It was quite a spectacle.

Additionally, Owens and Zayn paid tribute to Pittsburgh sports teams by wearing jerseys of legendary Penguins players Mario Lemieux and Sidney Crosby. They even used hockey sticks to attack Balor and Priest. Overall, the match was filled with excitement and included some crazy moments.

During the match, Dominik Mysterio, JD McDonagh, and Rhea Ripley all made appearances at different times. McDonagh intervened to prevent a pinfall defeat, and Ripley delivered a powerful spear to Owens, sending him crashing through the barricade at ringside.

With Zayn left to fend for himself, he put up a valiant fight and came close to defeating Balor with his Helluva Kick. However, it was Dominik Mysterio who sealed the deal. He used his Money in the Bank briefcase to finish off Zayn and secure the victory.

In the end, The Judgment Day emerged as the new tag team champions.
