WWE Hall Of Famer Mark Henry Believes AEW Would Be Affected After Firing CM Punk
The world of professional wrestling received a big shake in the last few hours when All Elite Wrestling reported the dismissal of CM Punk. A committee external to the company extended the decision a few days after learning of the altercation between The Best in the World and Jack Perry backstage at AEW All In London.
His scandalous end to CM Punk’s two years within AEW did not go unnoticed among veterans of the discipline. One of them is Mark Henry, who elaborated on what this exit would mean for the company in the years to come.
“Now they can be free and not complain,” Mark Henry told Busted Open Radio. “There should be no more complaints. The problem is gone. The person everyone pointed to as a problem is gone. It should all be laughter, rainbows, and unicorns backstage. I’m curious to see how it’s going to be from here on out.”, Now that the problem is solved”. The member of the WWE Hall of Fame declared that, beyond backstage morale, AEW could see its economy affected in the long term.
“As far as Punk is concerned, I don’t think the offenses will be affected, but rather the money and box office from live shows and merchandising. The money is going to be affected. Still, everything is resolved now. The problem is gone, and there should be peace and prosperity in life.”
