Vince McMahon Returned To His WWE Activities After Undergoing Back Surgery In July
A few hours ago, WWE held a new episode of Monday Night RAW from the Scope Arena in Norfolk, Virginia. Fans witnessed several matches and segments that will lead the way to Fastlane 2023.
The program was affected by a series of changes that were not planned in the first instance. These last-minute modifications affected the participation of several superstars, both in the live television show and for the Main Event recordings, generating debate on social networks regarding the moment in which the changes were carried out.
According to Fightful Select, the sudden modifications to the last Monday Night RAW are related to Vince McMahon’s return to supervisory duties after his recent back surgery. Several workers confirmed to the news portal that the authority of the TKO board of directors was accredited along with Triple H in several modifications made just moments before going on air. As happened in previous weeks, Vince’s role within the creative team is held remotely, without the need for him to be physically present backstage.
Among other consequences of the decisions made by Vince McMahon, WWE eliminated a match between Natalya and Zoey Stark from Main Event, replacing it with a match between Viking Raiders against Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander that was originally scheduled for RAW. The response received by Fightful points to the extra work Natalya did on Superstar Spectacle, clarifying that the creative team backed off when it came to giving work to The Queen of Harts this week.
Other important changes occurred in the timing of various segments and fights. Cody Rhodes took up a time slot in the middle of the show instead of opening it as scheduled.
Additionally, several backstage segments related to Jey Uso were eliminated, and the segment between Becky Lynch and Tiffany Stratton was cut. The justification for these cuts was to add more time to the presentation of the main event between Raquel Rodriguez and Rhea Ripley.
