Top 10 Hits And Misses At WWE Wrestlemania

9 months ago By Jhon Woug

Since the inception of WrestleMania in 1985, the event has become the proficient standards of professional wrestling that give fans around the world a chance to experience the top-notch athleticism, drama, and spectacle of the sportsman. Many iconic moves, exciting matches, and indecisive moments of the WWE family have passed by as the event of WrestleMania was full of many wrestling miracles.

Nonetheless, such victories usually take an enormous toll, and sometimes there are moments when the show does not go quite to plan and the performance does not meet the expected standard, always a reminder that even on the grandest stage, sometimes things do not go as they should. Today, our study will cover the most award-winning 10 moments and mistakes at WrestleMania Legacy.

  1. WrestleMania 17: A Legendary Showcase:

In 2001, “WrestleMania 17” was confirmed to be the best sports entertainment of all time. By three five-rated matches, these are the icons meeting (Rock sitting on Stone Cold Steve Austin). The fights were exciting, like the TLC match and the struggle for the heavyweight match between Triple H and the Undertaker. They have set the reference point for the fighters to do better, as these fights were just out of this world.

  1. WrestleMania XIX: The End of an Era

WWE witnessed a dramatic shift in the culture with the end of every ‘Attitude Era’ in 2003. Thus, it came to be known as ‘SmackDown! Era’. Looking back upon WrestleMania XIX legends like The Rock and Stone Cold Stevos nailing down some memorable performances and newcomers like Braun Strowman and Bray Wyatt thrilling the fans, there were perfect ingredients that served as vintage and future together.

  1. WrestleMania XIX: John Cena vs. The Masons:

In 2012, it was the 28th edition of WrestleMania that sold out with its highly- competitive The Rock vs. John Cena fight as the main event. Often also called ‘once-in-a-lifetime’ by their fans, this particular encounter with the competitors lived up to the talk, as did many more amazing matches like that of Triple H versus. The Undertaker of all time is better remembered inside Hell in Cell and CM Punk vs.Chris Jericho.

  1. WrestleMania X: A Historic Night:

In 1994, the tenth anniversary of the company’s WrestleMania event, held at Madison Square Garden, was the most significant night in the company’s history. The featured standout, HBK, is so superb that his fights always catch the attention of fans. Razor Ramon, Bret Hart versus. Owen Hart confirmed focus on an all-star roster, which is now seen as a trademark of WrestleMania and of WWE, making it a professional wrestling’s main event.

  1. WrestleMania 21: The Dawn of the New Era

To start with, 2005 was the year when WrestleMania 21 rolled into the new horizons of WWE. Batista and John Cena consequently became part of the main event in such a scenario. At the upper rank of the show, there has been an HBK vs. A match including a heavy-centre Kurt Angle and a fluid-crammed Eddie Guerrero. What stood out the most was Rey Mysterio’s outstanding performance at WrestleMania 21, the turning point for the incredible depth of the WWE rosters as well as the preparation for the future.

  1. WrestleMania VI: Passing the Torch:

Alongside WrestleMania VI, which occurred in 1990, another great moment should be highlighted, which was when Hulk Hogan handed the torch to The Ultimate Warrior in the process of a title match main event. Precisely away from wrestlemania six. It was dull and plain compared to the wonderful events that happened that year.

  1. WrestleMania VIII: A Missed Opportunity:

In March of 1992, what began as a fantastic WrestleMania VIII slowly transformed into a disappointment as a result of last-minute changes and lacklustre matches. There might have been an expectation for a face-off between Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair, but it did not give the feeling of old WrestleMania matches, and hence, fans were disappointed.

  1. WrestleMania XI: The ‘New Generation’ Misfire:

The nights of WrestleMania XI in 1995 were poorly prepared; the new era the WWE would bring called ‘New Generation’ was poorly presented, with dull matches and unamusing celebrity appearances overshadowing the WWE Championship bout. Throughout the event, the topic being tackled was the possible problems that can arise while transitioning to the new era of professional wrestling.

  1. WrestleMania XXVII: A Lacklustre Affair

WrestleMania XXVII delivered the goods. It was indeed a throwback, chock full of less-than-exciting matches and dismal storylines. Overcome by the shine of Georgia Dome, no less than the anticipation of Cena facing. Unlike the expected evening, the Rock was terribly done and had lots of things to talk about. The fans were disappointed during the event.

  1. WrestleMania 32: The Reigns Experiment:

At that time, WrestleMania 32 was loved only for the story of Roman Reignstriumph, as the fans didn’t accept him as the top star of the WWE. While the iconic stars of the event could not salvage the disappointing matches and a low excitement level, WrestleMania 32 itself became a lesson that one cannot make up everything by the biggest superstars of the business.

  1. WrestleMania 3: The Iconic Showdown:

WWE history’s milestone, WrestleMania III 1987, will be remembered for a long time for the epic confrontation between Hulk Hogan and “The Greatest Entertainer of All”Time”—Andre the Giant. The chest-pounding visage of two oversized gladiators slashing each other in the arena was purely hypnotic, and this alone greeted WrestleMania as the mecca of sports entertainment.

  1. WrestleMania X8: The Return of Hollywood Hogan:

In 2002, our friends at wrestlemania X8 welcomed back the then-former WWE superstar Hollywood Hogan, representing a crucial event not only in wrestling history. The confrontation between Hogan and The Rock, who both appear to be in line with tradition, was really doing a great job of entertaining the fans, and at the same time, it was a very good example of old rivalries and nostalgia.

  1. WrestleMania 31: The Miracle on Bourbon Street:

In 2015, the time came for WrestleMania 31 to prove the purity of magic. And it did, providing the fans with the greatest moment ever: when Seth Rollins cashed in his Money in the Bank contract during the main event between Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns. The unpredictable climax of the tournament resulted in Rollins seizing the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in the end. Thus, the inconceivable night ended in such a thrilling way.

  1. WrestleMania 34: The Empowering Moment:

At WrestleMania 34 in 2018, the situation changed as women had their very first main event match. The Raw Women’s Championship was up for grabs when the Triple Threat Match, featuring Charlotte Flair, Sasha Banks, and Becky Lynch, was the climax of the occasion. This match represented the transformation of women’s wrestling in the WWE, and thus this was an essential advancement in the never-ending struggle for equal recognition and respect.

While WrestleMania is considered the premier event for the wrestling industry, it is most often that the most iconic showdowns are intermingled with the unforgettable moments that have made this event a fixture in its history. Such as the unforgettable moment when Hulk Hogan body slammed Andre the Giant to The Rock, mesmerising the crowd with his charm, these are the moments that really have become the core of wrestling fans’ memories worldwide throughout history. Then, regardless of the tips we have conquered, there are also occasions when events do not go as planned and we get to see that even the best stars can be imperfect on such a massive stage. There is no guarantee that a clash or a plot line will succeed. In a way, these setbacks become humbling, and I understand that the world of entertainment is full of ups and downs.

And, though there definitely is some missed timing, WrestleMania goes on as a symbol of hope and excitement, loved by fans of whatever age. It fulfils its role as the field where hopes and dreams are attained, reputations are established, and the limits of what cannot be attained in the world of sports entertainment continue to be challenged. Every WrestleMania turns out to be a new act in the history of wrestling, and it gives it the unparalleled position in sports history by which each new WrestleMania will add another chapter to the rich tapestry of wrestling.

Since the early days of Booker T vs. the Honky Tonk Man to recent bigger and better matches, wrestlemania has been a stage for all kinds of iconic moments. Although some moments have laid the foundation for “American Football as the ‘Temples of Sports’, others have played out the games of sports entertainment that had the only aim of entertaining the audience. For real, it does not matter if it is high or low; WrestleMania will stand as a continuous expression of wrestling passion, drama, and sensations.
