The Miz Calls, McIntyre ‘The Batman Of WWE, Cody Rhodes’ The Superman Of WWE’
In the ever-dynamic landscape of WWE, where larger-than-life personalities frequently clash, some heroes emerge in unexpected places. Last week’s main event showcased a thrilling contest between Drew McIntyre, “The Scottish Warrior,” and Jey Uso. With the dust from their bout still settling, Jey found himself at the mercy of the menacing group, Judgment Day. As McIntyre stood by, choosing not to intervene, it was none other than Cody Rhodes who leapt to Jey’s aid, solidifying his position as a beacon of hope in the WWE universe. The Miz talked about the same incident on the Miz TV on today’s event of WWE RAW. Drawing parallels with iconic superheroes, The Miz lauded McIntyre as “The Batman of WWE” and hailed Cody Rhodes as “The Superman of WWE”.
Miz started The Miz TV show by addressing Drew McIntyre and calling him out for a talk. Drew asked The Miz if he had any specific questions for The Miz TV. The Miz remarked, candidly, that if their positions were reversed, he would’ve acted in the same manner. He further questioned Drew on why he left him vulnerable to an attack at “Judgment Day.”
Drew was quick to retort, emphasizing their stark differences. However, The Miz contested that viewpoint, suggesting they were more similar than Drew thought. He touched upon Drew’s previous reign as the WWE Champion, noting that Drew’s championship journey saw a bitter end when he faced off against Jey Uso, resulting in a loss. The Miz asserted that Drew’s lack of trust in Jey Uso stemmed from the fact that Jey has a history of putting his interests above all, indicating that Drew was right in being wary.
But the highlight of their conversation was when The Miz intriguingly labelled Drew McIntyre as the ‘Batman of WWE’ and Cody Rhodes as the ‘Superman of WWE’.
The Miz didn’t stop at the comparisons. He took a jibe at Drew by asking him about his feelings after being overshadowed by Cody Rhodes the previous week. Just as the tension between the two was reaching its peak, the arena reverberated with New Day’s music, signalling the arrival of Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods.
Kofi, always the voice of reason, called out Drew, pointing out that the Drew McIntyre they knew wasn’t someone who would back down from challenges. He indicated that Drew’s recent actions might have diminished his stature in the eyes of many. Xavier added to the sentiment by suggesting that Drew’s resolve seemed to have waned a bit in the past week.
The Miz attempted to jump into the conversation, but an irate Drew silenced him swiftly. Drew defended himself, stating that during the controversial situation last week, nobody stepped up, and it was Cody who tried to diffuse it. Kofi countered Drew’s defense by pointing out that Drew didn’t fulfil his responsibilities, reminding Drew of all the transgressions Jey Uso had committed against them in the past.
Kofi also brought to light that Jey was making amends for his past mistakes. As The Miz tried to interject again, Drew lost his patience and warned him to stay silent. It was evident that the atmosphere in the ring was thick with tension.
Kofi, addressing Drew directly, conveyed his respect for him, mentioning how he had always admired Drew for standing up for what was right. But, as the verbal confrontation reached its zenith, The Miz’s attempts to intervene didn’t go down well with Drew, who responded with a sharp headbutt, sending a clear message to The Miz.
To end the segment, Drew McIntyre challenges Koffi Kingston to step up in the ring.
