As one of the most exciting shifts in the WWE women’s division over the years, Nia Jax has returned to the ring with a stunning win against one of the most well-known talents of the wrestling world, Bayley. This bout is not only the representation of the rivalry that has been up and running in WWE’s women’s division but also the match of the change in the careers of both wrestlers. Nia Jax’s win makes her a fearsome champion when she comes back, while Bayley has a huge obstacle that may cause her downfall. The Story of the Build-up to the Match Nia Jax returned to WWE, and that was somewhat shocking to many. Since being let go in 2021 because of budget issues, Jax has been out of the ring. For months she had no future in wrestling. Some people even wondered whether Jax, who had large built and powerful muscles, could regain the energy that she used to have before she left. On the other hand, Bayley, a one-time women’s champion, entered the match with the full intention of trying to show that she hadn’t lost a step to Jax when she came back from the injury. The Opening Moments To begin with, one could see that Nia Jax was in good form, and she did not even look like she had lost any matches. Instantly the bell rang. Instead, she decided to tire out Jax, who only had power punches, and thus concentrated on her legs and used fast footwork to dodge Jax’s heavy hits. There were a few times in the match where Bayley was able to get some distance between her and Jax, using a series of drop kicks and elbows to gain some space. Jax’s Dominance Basically, through all her efforts, Nia Jax’s power was overwhelming that even Bayley could not handle any longer. Jax’s offense was violent and well planned. Power moves such as the imposing Samoan Drop as well as a bone-crushing leg drop saw the life squeezed out of Bayley. Jax was much bigger and stronger than her rival, and she was also able to set the pace in the match; Bayley tried to take the initiative several times but was unable to do so. Jax’s return to the ring also witnessed a better version of her in-ring ability, or rather, speaking of the style. One of Jax’s selling points is her powerhouse offense, and while she laid it on thick, she did so in a more methodical manner, targeting the midsection and back of Bayley. Every time Bayley attempted to take control of the match and start an offense, the champion stopped her with a solid blow or a powerful slam. Bayley’s Resilience As is typical throughout her career, one of Bayley’s strengths was her ability to persevere, and that was evidenced here. For most of the match, Nia Jax was on the rampage, but Bayley never quit the ring. This was evident when she was kicked out of multiple near-falls and still fought back despite the many odds against her. There was once when Bayley countered Jax’s powerbomb attempt into a hurricane that saw Jax landing on the corner turn buckle. It appeared that this time the change of momentum happened as Bayley proceeded to execute a top-rope elbow drop—one of her favorites. The fans stood up to their feet, thinking that Bayley has a chance to produce a comeback and win the match. Nevertheless, Jax was out at two, proving herself as a very determined competitor and ready to win. The Turning Point The climax of the match was when Bayley tried to execute what is called the Rose Plant on her opponent. As one of the attacks from Jax, Bayley attempted to hook Jax’s arm and bring her head down face first into the mat. Although, because of Jax’s size, Bayley could not properly perform the move that she was attempting to do on him. The champion was quick to respond; she grabbed Bayley by the neck and threw her to the mat with a nasty powerbomb. The effect was harsh, and now the advantage was returned back to Jax in the match. At the moment, one of the best stories in WWE is about Buddy Matthews, an outstanding performer who is now an avid fan of mowing down Dominik Mysterio, Dirty Dom—as fans and critics call him. This rivalry has interested WWE viewers; not only is it rivalry between two athletes, but also rivalry between two personalities with two different ideas of wrestling.
