WWE NXT Results & Report: Winners, Losers And Analysis – 22 August 2023

NXT Heatwave opened to some great matches as some rivalries were touched upon once again, and this has paved the way for future matchups and alliances. The results of the matches that took place on August 22 are: Trick William has a very bright future in business. The man gave it his all but still came up short against one of the very best in NXT. Dragunov is one of the toughest and most technical wrestlers in the business, and he sealed the victory via a diving low forearm smash. Dragunov will now look to cement himself as the No. 1 contender for the NXT title. Winner: Ilja Dragunov Ava was in the driver’s seat for the entire match. Her power moves have been well regarded as some of the cleanest in NXT. But as life is, Ava took one wrong step, which found her submitting to a dragon sleeper by Ivy Nile. Winner: Ivy Nile Nathan Frazer put up a 5-star performance as he picked up the victory over Noam Dar with a Phoenix Splash that Seth Rollins would have been proud of. It must be noted that Dragon Lee being at ringside and cuddling the Heritage Cup may have caused a distraction, but take nothing away from Nathan Frazer, who gave the fans what they came for. Winner: Nathan Frazer Rhea Ripley and Dirty Dom took on Dragon Lee with Lyra Valkyria. The duo have been in the news for the entire year and have bad news coming as Dragon Lee gears up for a rematch for the NXT North American Title. Dragon Lee rolled up Dirty Dom for the cover and made his point clear to Mysterio Jr. that he was coming for him. Raquel Rodriguez was also seen testing Mami’s patience during the match. Winners: Lyra Valkyria and Dragon Lee This match never got underway, and we were robbed of a classic that could have been. The bell never rang, and a brawl caused the match to be stopped. Bron Breaker got his nose in the way, teaming up with the Lone Wolf. This can be termed a wasted opportunity, as the fans were expecting something big at Heatwave. Nonetheless, this rivalry will surely be catapulted to the next level. Winners: The match never started. A suicide dive from Wes Lee changed the complexion of this match as the momentum shifted from there. Wes Lee gassed out all his resources early on and was left with a hopeful attempt. The champion, though not at his peak, looked the part as he picked up the win via pinball. This match will happen again in the future with the history that these two have. Winner: Carmelo Hayes.

All 4 Confirmed Matches For WWE Payback 2023

If you do read Sports Entertainment content, chances are you know that a major title change may only take place at a PPV PPV not otherwise. Austin Theory closing his 0 to The master od the 619 was a breath of fresh air but that usually doesn’t happen anymore. But that brings us to Payback where all scores will be settled once and for all. On that note, here are 4 fixed matches at Payback: Gunther Vs Chad Gable But isn’t this already advertised for tonight’s edition of Raw? It sure Is. With a Classic such as the one we have, there are no doubts that this Cake will be spoiled by the non-competing members of the Imperium who will get Gunther Disqualified, only to keep the Title and remain Intercontinental Champion. This has bought us to Payback, where this feud will be ended once and for all. The title may not exchange hands on next week’s Raw but may do so at WWE Payback. Gunther who has been sleeping with his Intercontinental Championship ever since Chad Gable challenged for it. The wait will finally be over and perhaps a lot more protected this time. Rhea Ripley Vs Raquel Rodriguez Rhea Ripley is expected to defend the WWE Women’s World Championship at Payback against Raquel Rodriguez. This was a bout that was a fine deal back in SummerSlam but was left out by the creative. Raquel Rodriguez has been waiting to take out Mami and prove her superiority. With Judgement Day around the corner, this match may have just the right amount of sauce to be a cult classic. Seth Rollins Vs Shinsuke Nakamura Now to the Elephant in the room, we have Monday Night Rollins, who will look to defend the World Heavyweight Title against a Superstar who has The Messiah’s number of late: Shinsuke Nakamura. After two Kinshasas, the King of Strong Style got his shot at the gold, and we expect nothing but a 5-star match from two of the Best Wrestlers in The world, Period! This rivalry is sure to come to a close when the two divas and the best of their respective generations meet to settle their issues once and for all. Becky Lynch has shown that she respects the legend only as much and will not look to share the spotlight a minute longer, should the veteran wish to bask in its shining glory. Payback will decide the conclusion, and as of now, it seems that someone is sure to fall in line.

These two, even with Cena’s schedule, are sure to put on a 5-star match should it happen this September. Sheamus and John Cena share a rivalry that has lasted over a decade. Dirty Dom was there the night John Cena and Rey Mysterio competed for the World Title. Sure, Cena won, and CM Punk came out with the original title, which he won to a louder ovation. WWE Raw Results & Report: Winners, Losers And Analysis – 21 August 2023

This week’s Raw took us to Quebec City, Quebec, Canada, where the Intercontinental Championship was on the line. Each superstar looks to outdo the other as they look to make their way into WWE Payback with a bang. The Canada tour for WWE has proved to be a grand success for the company, and with their attendance record already shattered for Wrestlemania XL, Raw was going to be all the more wild. Last week on Raw, Chad Gable was getting ready to take out the Ring General from all corners, and this week he got his title shot. Though worthy of a PPV bout, WWE these days, just like in old times, is giving fans PPV content on weekly television. Here are the matches that defined this week’s episode: Matt Riddle teamed with the Scottish Warrior to take on a returning Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston. The New Day kept Drew McIntyre out of the match pretty much the entire time. With Riddle cornered, the enigmatic tag team kept tagging each other to remain fresh. When McIntyre’s moment was about to come, he was taken out by the Viking Raiders. Erik kept Drew McIntyre away from his tag team partner, and this allowed the New Day to pick up the win. Both teams were gassed out and immediately attacked by the Viking Raiders, who wanted to make a big impact and make their presence known. It may be noted that Drew McIntyre does not look too happy with the kind of storylines he has been in of late and deserves to be in the title picture as a singles competitor. Winner: The New Day Rhea Ripley carried on with her dominance as she made an example of Candice LeRae. Rhea Ripley made quick work of her opponent as Mami submitted Candice LeRae with an elevated inverted clover leaf. After the match, Raquel Rodriguez came to the ring with a stick for assistance. Mami unknowingly mocked her and paid the price as Rodriguez threw the stick in the air to conclude she was fine. She sent Mami Packing back to Dirty Dom and laid her claim as the No. 1 contender for Rhea Ripley’s title. WINNER: RHEA RIPLEY The A-Lister has his head elsewhere, right from the bell. The Miz was not liking the fact that current sensation LA Knight had come to join the commentary desk and distract the A-Lister. Akira Tozawa was having none of it and took advantage midway by rolling up a distracted Miz into the cover for the victory. The Miz is being bothered time and again by the LA Knight Express. The most must-see WWE Superstar is not liking the fact that he now holds 2nd place on the charts behind the new fruit in the market, LA Knight. WINNER: AKIRA TOZAWA Damian Priest and Finn Balor took no chances as they looked to keep their graph up going into Payback. It must be noted that though Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens are accomplished singles competitors, they do form a great tag team too. The match was hanging in the balance when JD McDonagh looked to interfere and help Finn Balor with the briefcase, only for Kevin Owens to reverse the tide and hit Balor with it. WINNER: JUDGEMENT DAY Adam Pearce made this one official, as there were six men in the ring. Amidst the chaos, Dominik Mysterio rose to the occasion, and it almost looked like a change in channel when he was on screen. The volume of boos and whistles just keeps getting louder. Damien Priest took out KO with a lariat, and the match looked set but for Dashing Cody Rhodes. Rhodes changed the complexion of the match with Crossroads, followed by a helluva kick from Sami Zayn to Dirty Dom. Kevin Owens finished the scene with a picturesque stunner for Dominik Mysterio. WINNERS: ZAYN, KO, and Cody Rhodes Gunther Vs Chad Gable Now for the big one—the match that all fans had been waiting for. Gunther vs. Chad Gable The Ring General showed no fear as he went toe-to-toe with the Olympian. Chad Gable has been on a mission to prove everyone wrong and reign supreme. It is this desire that has kept him going for so long. Gunther, fearing he may lose his gold, cunningly escaped the ring to be counted out and still keep his belt. Gunther knows every trick in the book, and as predicted on CombatSports247 previously, this one may only be settled at WWE Payback. WINNER: CHAD GABLE
WWE RAW Shocker: Is Rhea Ripley the True Leader of The Judgment Day?

WWE Universe was on the edge of their seats this week, thanks to a twist on WWE RAW. The Judgment Day, a faction that has intrigued many and perplexed others, once again showed signs of internal rifts. But the night wasn’t just about strife; it was about revelation. Balor’s Leadership Questioned Many fans believed, thanks to rampant rumors and speculation, that Finn Balor was the undisputed leader of The Judgment Day. This speculation had been fueled, in part, because of Balor’s impactful entry, which many associate with Edge’s shocking exit. However, recent events might suggest otherwise. Last night’s RAW had an interesting turn of events. After a recent fallout between Balor and Damian Priest, Rhea Ripley intervened, not as a mere mediator but as someone with authority. She not only forced Balor and Priest to join forces again but also remained ringside, evidently orchestrating her team’s every move, aiming for victory. Renowned commentator Michael Cole couldn’t help but note the power dynamics at play. He mentioned how it increasingly seems that Rhea Ripley might be the real puppet master behind The Judgment Day’s strings. Given her actions and the authoritative demeanor displayed, it’s hard to refute his observation. Age is Just a Number What makes this revelation even more shocking is the fact that Rhea Ripley is one of the youngest members of The Judgment Day. Yet, age hasn’t deterred her rise. In fact, over the past few months, Ripley has proven her worth time and time again. With championship gold around her waist, she’s the only main roster champion in the faction. This not only adds to her credibility but also hints at her potential leadership capabilities. What’s Next for The Judgment Day? With this newfound information, many questions arise. Is Rhea Ripley truly the leader, or is she just a temporary figurehead? How will Finn Balor react to these insinuations? And more importantly, what’s next for The Judgment Day? Will they unite under Ripley’s leadership or crumble due to internal power struggles? Only time will reveal the answers. But for now, the WWE Universe is left buzzing with theories, predictions, and anticipation for next week’s RAW. This week’s RAW has undoubtedly added a layer of complexity to The Judgment Day’s narrative. As the storyline continues to unfold, fans are more invested than ever. With Rhea Ripley potentially at the helm, the future of this faction seems intriguing. Stay tuned to witness the next chapter in this gripping WWE tale.
