Valentina Shevchenko vs. Alexa Grasso: ‘Bullet’ Promises To Fix Mistakes That Cost Her The Title

Valentina Shevchenko isn’t planning on repeating her mistakes against Alexa Grasso in their title rematch at Noche UFC this weekend. The former women’s flyweight champion recently discussed her upcoming challenge and promised she’s prepared for whatever Grasso throws at her.  In their previous meeting at UFC 285, Grasso shockingly secured a fourth-round submission to dethrone the long-reigning flyweight queen. During the fight, Shevchenko dominated Grasso on the feet and on the ground for three rounds. However, ‘Bullet’ made a costly error in the fourth round that cost her the title.  In a recent interview with Aaron Bronsteter, the Kyrgyzstan native opened up about learning from her mistakes and moving forward. Valentina Shevchenko noted that her biggest mistake was lacking the intention to finish Alexa Grasso as early as possible.  During the conversation, ‘Bullet’ noted the reason behind her downfall and promised she was looking to leave the octagon with the belt wrapped around her waist. Interestingly, Shevchenko also claimed to have shown “mercy” to Grasso in their last fight. However, there’s no chance of that happening this time around. Valentina Shevchenko stated that she learned her lessons and will be looking to defeat Alexa Grasso dominantly.  Valentina Shevchenko is among the most dominant fighters the UFC has ever seen. The 35-year-old held the women’s flyweight title from December 2018 to March 2023. During her incredible title run, she defended her championship against world-class fighters like Taila Santos, Lauren Murphy, Jessica Andrade, Jennifer Maia, and Katlyn Chookagian.  Meanwhile, Alexa Grasso is coming into this fight on a five-fight win streak. The Mexican native won the 125-pound strap against ‘Bullet’ in her last outing and etched her name into the UFC’s history books. Her unbeaten run includes wins over Viviane Araujo, Joanne Wood, and Maycee Barber.  Valentina Shevchenko has a professional record of 23-4, whereas Alexa Grasso’s resume shows 16-3.

Noche UFC: Erin Blanchfield Slams Valentina Shevchenko For Repetitive Game Plans

Erin Blanchfield recently sounded off on Valentina Shevchenko for not modifying her game to suit the contemporary class of opponents. Given the future title contender’s investment in Shevchenko’s next fight, it’s unsurprising to see her closely analyze the UFC Noche headliner.  Valentina Shevchenko and Alexa Grasso will face off in a title rematch at Noche UFC in Las Vegas this weekend. The famed T-Mobile Arena is hosting the special Fight Night event to celebrate the Mexican Independence Day. Shevchenko last faced Grasso at UFC 285 in March. Despite being an underdog, the Mexican fighter shockingly submitted ‘Bullet’ in the fourth round to win the women’s flyweight title. However, since Shevchenko had an unmatched resume, the officials awarded her an immediate rematch. It’s worth noting that Valentina Shevchenko was ahead on the judges’ scorecards at UFC 285. Shevchenko outpointed Alexa Grasso for three rounds but then threw an ill-timed spinning back-kick, which allowed her opponent to counter with a takedown. Capitalizing on Shevchenko’s mistake, Grasso quickly transitioned into a face-crank and secured the submission.  Erin Blanchfield wasn’t shocked or surprised to see a dominant champion like Valentina Shevchenko getting finished. The 24-year-old, who’s established herself as a fast-rising contender, is beginning to see a pattern in Shevchenko’s strategies and believes the women’s flyweight division may have started to catch up.  Valentina Shevchenko’s resume would impress even the greatest MMA fighters today. However, the Kyrgyzstan native is seemingly nearing the twilight zone of her career, with many believing her age is affecting her performance. Erin Blanchfield and others assert that Shevchenko no longer possesses the mercurial championship skills she once had.   In a recent interview with MMA Fighting, ‘Cold Blooded’ weighed in on Valentina Shevchenko’s skills as a fighter. Blanchfield claimed that Shevchenko’s age is a massive hurdle to her drive and that she’s displaying repetitive game plans. She continued to suggest that Shevchenko finds it hard to adjust to newer opponents and could lose to Grasso again.

Noche UFC: Erin Blanchfield Shares Prediction For Valentina Shevchenko vs. Alexa Grasso

Erin Blanchfield knows who she’s betting on for the Valentina Shevchenko vs. Alexa Grasso title fight at Noche UFC. The mercurial women’s flyweight contender recently shared her two cents on the matchup and predicted that Grasso could repeat her UFC 285 performance this weekend.  Shevchenko will try to reclaim the 125-pound strap against Grasso at Noche UFC in Las Vegas. The UFC’s Mexican Independence Day special event is set to go down at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on September 16. While the Shevchenko-Grasso title fight headlines the Fight Night event, a pivotal welterweight contest between Kevin Holland and Jack Della Maddalena will serve as the co-main event.  In their last meeting at UFC 285, Grasso secured a fourth-round submission to secure an upset win over ‘Bullet.’ While Valentina Shevchenko was a massive betting favorite, Grasso’s ability to capitalize on her opponent’s mistake proved beneficial. Prior to that loss, Shevchenko had recorded seven title defenses and was unbeaten in nine fights.  In a recent interview with MMA Fighting, Erin Blanchfield discussed the highly anticipated matchup. During the conversation, ‘Cold Blooded’ admitted that few could match Shevchenko’s dominance in the division. However, she speculated that Grasso’s experience against Shevchenko would prove vital in this bout.  Claiming that Alexa Grasso would make the required adjustments to her game, Blanchfield stated that she could outpoint Valentina Shevchenko. Referring to their last fight, when ‘Bullet’ was ahead on the judges’ scorecards, ‘Cold Blooded’ outlined how this matchup would prove Shevchenko’s lack of adaptability.  Interestingly, Erin Blanchfield is likely to challenge the winner of the Valentina Shevchenko vs. Alexa Grasso fight for the title. After defeating Taila Santos at UFC Singapore, Blanchfield made it abundantly clear that she’s a legitimate title contender. Given whats at stake, the 24-year-old will undoubtedly be watching this fight closely

Fight Analysis: Tracy Cortez and Jasmine Jasudavicius Versatility and well-roundedness: One of the main attractions of this bout is the sheer well-roundedness and versatility of both fighters. Cortez, known for her phenomenal wrestling skills in the clinch, offers a formidable challenge to her opponents. Her ability to maintain composure during intense exchanges and stick to her game plan has been a defining feature of her UFC career. Despite her fights often going the distance, she’s displayed an impressive jab and the knack for utilising dirty boxing to control the distance. Ground Dominance: Cortez’s ground game is her bread and butter, especially when she secures top position. Her relentless ground-and-pound and grappling prowess make her a nightmare for opponents attempting to escape her clutches. Jasudavicius, on the other hand, brings a gritty and unapologetically raw style to the octagon. Her expertise in dirty boxing sets her apart, and she’s not hesitant to unleash a barrage of punches and knees when the opportunity arises. Unlike Cortez, Jasudavicius often initiates takedowns from within the clinch, surprising her opponents with trips and leg grabs. This unconventional approach makes her a unique and unpredictable fighter. When Jasudavicius takes the fight to the ground, she knows how to break her opponents both physically and mentally. Her relentless pressure, technical ground-and-pound, and threat of submissions create a daunting scenario for her adversaries. In what promises to be a closely contested bout, the outcome may hinge on who establishes dominance early. The fighter who secures top position is likely to wear down their opponent as the fight progresses. Given her recent performance against another accomplished grappler, Miranda Maverick, we’re leaning towards Jasmine Jasudavicius for this one. Her relentless forward pressure and ability to throw extended combinations could wear down Cortez in the later rounds. It’s important to note that both fighters possess well-matched skill sets, making this fight an exciting prospect due to its unpredictability. Expert Pick: Jasmine Jasudavicius to Win by Decision or Fight to Go the Distance In conclusion, Tracy Cortez vs. Jasmine Jasudavicius is set to be a thrilling clash between two flyweight titans. Kevin Holland Claims He’s Not Interested In Pursuing Championship Bouts Anytime Soon

It seems UFC welterweight contender Kevin Holland won’t be calling for a title shot in the near future. ‘Trailblazer’ recently discussed his future career plans and claimed he only wants the paydays to keep coming.  Kevin Holland is booked to face Jack Della Maddalena at Noche UFC this weekend. The UFC’s Mexican Independence Day special event will occur at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on September 16. Alexa Grasso will defend her women’s flyweight title against Valentina Shevchenko in the headliner, marking a rare occasion when a Fight Night event is highlighted by a championship fight.  During his recent Noche UFC media day appearance, Kevin Holland was asked why he wasn’t calling for a title shot. Outlining the welterweight title picture, the reporters were quite insistent on getting their answer. However, ‘Trailblazer’ was least interested in entertaining them and firmly dismissed the chances of him fighting for the title.  The No.13-ranked welterweight contender firmly iterated that he’s keener on making money than winning a belt. Describing how much he loves being active, Holland stated that he’s only looking for entertaining fights against world-class opponents. Expressing his vexation at being pressed about a championship shout, Kevin Holland retorted by asking reporters why they were so perplexed by his decision.  Kevin Holland is currently riding an incredible two-fight win streak. He secured two back-to-back stoppages over Michael Chiesa and Santiago Ponzinibbio. While Holland submitted Chiesa in the first round at UFC 291, he third-round KO’d Ponzinibbio at UFC 287.  With two consecutive stoppage victories going into his next fight, Holland is undoubtedly confident of extending his win streak. However, he revealed that his secret lies in telling himself that he lost the two previous fights. He claimed that he maintains his mentality by always looking to redeem himself.

Breaking: Derek Brunson Wants To Fight Jake Paul After Being Released From The UFC

Derek Brunson has made Jake Paul his next target after being released from the UFC. The perennial middleweight contender recently sent the MMA community into a frenzy after announcing his exit from the promotion. While the reasons behind him leaving the UFC are unknown, it’s believed that the parting was mutually agreed upon.  Soon after reports of his UFC exit surfaced, Brunson took to social media to call out Jake Paul. With the intention of facing the YouTuber-turned-boxer in the squared circle, Brunson reminded Paul of an earlier call-out. It seems ‘The Problem Child’ was keen on fighting Derek Brunson in 2021 and even asked Dana White for permission.  While the bout never materialized, ‘The One’ seemingly still remembers Paul’s challenge. The former UFC middleweight tweeted screenshots of their 2021 exchange and expressed his desire to make the fight happen. Now that Brunson is no longer on the UFC roster, he doesn’t have any contractual obligations hindering him.  While Jake Paul is yet to respond, it’s quite possible that fans will get to see Derek Brunson put on a pair of boxing gloves. Given the YouTuber’s reputation for fighting retired MMA fighters, a Paul vs. Brunson boxing match is certainly a possibility.  However, Jake Paul recently went the distance in the squared circle against Nate Diaz. While ‘The Problem Child’ emerged victorious via unanimous decision, he may need some recovery time before taking on a new opponent. Needless to say, Derek Brunson is also a larger and heavier opponent than the Stockton slugger.  Derek Brunson was undoubtedly among the most popular middleweight contenders in the UFC. He was known for his personality as much as his fighting skills and was among the most entertaining fighters. As of now, only time will tell if Jake Paul and Derek Brunson face off in the boxing ring.
