Francis Ngannou Vigilant About Tyson Fury Potentially Cheating By Glove Tampering

Francis Ngannou doesn’t seem to have much faith in Tyson Fury’s spirit of sportsmanship and recently made some huge claims. The former UFC heavyweight champion stated that he thinks Fury will cheat during their boxing match using modified gloves.  Tyson Fury is set to welcome Francis Ngannou to the world of boxing on October 28 in Saudi Arabia. The matchup is the result of a long process, which saw ‘The Predator’ being linked to several high-profile pugilists. After his exit from the UFC earlier this year, Ngannou made it clear he wanted to box. After names like Deontay Wilder, Anthony Joshua, and Andy Ruiz crossed his path, he finally got his dream opponent.  Tyson Fury is the WBC heavyweight champion and is widely regarded as one of the greatest boxers ever. Given his resume, not many give Francis Ngannou a rabbit’s chance of winning. However, the Cameroonian is known as the hardest hitter in all of MMA and undoubtedly has a puncher’s chance.  During his recent conversation with Joe Rogan, Ngannou recalled Fury’s glove controversy after his win over Wilder in 2020. The story involved Deontay Wilder accusing Tyson Fury of using tampered gloves during their fight. Ngannou told Rogan that Fury is “tricky with his glove” and could cut his glove and land an eye poke. While Francis Ngannou’s concern was genuine, Joe Rogan was having none of it. The UFC commentator pushed back by asking what proof Wilder had and dismissed the allegations as mere losing frenzy. He also added that the British Boxing Commission is very strict and checks everything always.  To that point, Ngannou stated that he knew about the commission and was open to fighting bare-knuckle. However, he asked that he not be given 10-ounce gloves while his opponent had 8-ounce gloves.  Ngannou’s boxing debut is set to make him a reported $10 million and will stream on ESPN+ pay-per-view. Meanwhile, Fury is coming off a stoppage victory over Derek Chisora in December 2022.

UFC Vegas 79: Mateusz Gamrot Believes He Can Match Islam Makhachev’s Wrestling Skills

Mateusz Gamrot recently made some huge claims about having the skills to match UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev’s wrestling. The 32-year-old Polish national is set to face Rafael Fiziev in a lightweight contest at UFC Vegas 79. The Fight Night event is set to go down at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas this weekend. Gamrot and Fiziev will be headlining the highly anticipated event.  Gamrot is coming off a statement split decision victory over Jalin Turner at UFC 285. The victory brought him back into the win column after he dropped a stinker against Beneil Dariush at UFC 280. Prior to that, Mateusz Gamrot was on an incredible four-fight win streak, including a UD over Arman Tsarukyan.  During the recent UFC Vegas 79 pre-fight presser, Gamrot discussed Makhachev’s next fight.  Islam Makhachev is set to rematch Charles Oliveira in a title fight at UFC 294 on October 21. The Dagestani grappling savant previously dispatched ‘Do Bronx’ via second-round submission at UFC 280. Given his record, Makhachev is an overwhelming favorite against Oliveira.  However, Mateusz Gamrot doesn’t give too much stock to the lightweight king’s grappling skills. He stated that if Makhachev wins again, he has his eye on the champ for a future title clash. He outlined his confidence in his skills as a grappler and pointed out that he’s always beaten strikers with it. Predicting another successful title defense for Makhachev, Gamrot claimed he’s interested in fighting him in the next two years.  While the Polish native believes he’s the best grappler in the 155-pound division, Islam Makhachev is arguably the most dangerous submission expert we’ve seen since his teammate and close friend Khabib Nurmagomedov. Islam Makhachev is currently on a 12-fight win streak and has beaten the likes of Charles Oliveira, Bobby Green, Dan Hooker and Alexander Volkanovski.   However, only time will tell if Mateusz Gamrot is truly a better wrestler than the Dagestani phenom.

Breaking: Dana White Announces Tony Ferguson vs. Paddy Pimblett Lightweight Contest Added To UFC 296

Dana White recently confirmed another barnburner for UFC 296 in December, with Tony Ferguson going up against Paddy Pimblett. 2023’s last pay-per-view is set to go down at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Before this matchup was announced, the UFC CEO also confirmed the Stephen Thompson vs. Shavkat Rakhmonov welterweight contest.  Pimblett was initially expected to be sidelined this year due to a nasty ankle injury he suffered during the Jared Gordon fight at UFC 282. While he claimed the injury was more serious than expected, it seems the doctors have worked their magic. Now, the Englishman has an opportunity to face one of the UFC’s biggest lightweight stars.  While Tony Ferguson is a bonafide legend in the lightweight division, the past few years have been unkind to him. The former interim lightweight champion is on a depressing six-fight losing slide. His dismal form seemingly stemmed from a brutal beatdown from Justin Gaethje at UFC 249. Since then, Ferguson hasn’t looked himself, and many have urged ‘El Cucuy’ to call it a career. However, Tony Ferguson remains adamant about competing.  Meanwhile, Paddy Pimblett is on a six-fight winning streak. ‘Paddy The Baddy’ is coming off an extremely controversial victory over Jared Gordon at UFC 282. While he defended himself in public after the unanimous decision, he has a chance to wash off some doubters. Given Ferguson’s recent record, many questioned Dana White’s matchmaking judgment. With Pimblett coming off six consecutive wins, it’s highly unlikely that Ferguson will be a favorite going into this fight. However, it’s also possible that the promotion is slyly trying to retire the former interim champion with an impossible task.  Only time will tell how Tony Ferguson fare against one of the fastest-rising stars in the 155-pound division.

UFC Fight Night: Fiziev vs. Mateusz Gamrot Las Vegas Betting Odds Prediction

In the ever-evolving landscape of mixed martial arts, the lightweight division has always been a source of excitement and intrigue. The 155-pound weight class has consistently produced some of the sport’s most electrifying and skilled fighters. Two such contenders, Rafael Fiziev and Mateusz Gamrot, are set to collide in the main event of UFC Fight Night in Las Vegas, promising fans an explosive showdown. As the date approaches for this highly anticipated clash, fans and bettors alike are eagerly assessing the odds and predictions for this matchup. Fiziev, with a record of 12-2, and Gamrot, boasting an impressive 22-2-1 (with no contests) record, have both shown immense promise and resilience on their paths to the top of the lightweight division. A New Breed of Lightweight Contenders The lightweight division has long been one of the most stacked and competitive weight classes in the UFC. It’s a division known for its deep pool of talent and a history of producing iconic champions. Names like Khabib Nurmagomedov, Conor McGregor, and Tony Ferguson have all left their mark on the division. Now, a new generation of fighters is vying for their shot at glory, and two of the most promising prospects in this weight class are Rafael Fiziev and Mateusz Gamrot. Fiziev, a 12-fight veteran of the sport, has showcased his striking prowess and dynamic style inside the Octagon. His striking accuracy and ability to deliver devastating kicks and punches have made him a standout performer. However, like every fighter, he has faced his share of setbacks. Gamrot, on the other hand, boasts an impressive record of 22 wins, with only two losses and one no-contest. His well-rounded skills and tenacity make him a formidable opponent for anyone in the division. Despite a high-profile loss to Beneil Dariush, Gamrot has rebounded with a victory over Jalin Turner, showcasing his resilience and determination. High stakes and valuable lessons Both Fiziev and Gamrot have tasted defeat in their careers, and those losses have provided valuable lessons that have contributed to their growth as fighters. Fiziev’s defeat came at the hands of perennial title challenger Justin Gaethje. It was a fight that showcased Fiziev’s heart and determination but also exposed some vulnerabilities in his game. He admitted that he let his emotions get the better of him in that fight, leading to lapses in his fight IQ. “I was 100% sure that was my fight. I could do anything I wanted to. That’s why I didn’t control my emotions. The fire inside controlled me,” Fiziev candidly revealed. This self-awareness is a crucial aspect of a fighter’s development, and Fiziev’s willingness to acknowledge his mistakes is a testament to his dedication to improvement. Learning from setbacks is a fundamental part of a fighter’s journey, and it’s clear that Fiziev has absorbed the lessons from his loss to Gaethje. He understands the importance of controlling his emotions and fighting with a strategic mindset. Facing a Different Challenge In the world of mixed martial arts, adaptability is a prized trait, and fighters must be prepared to face a variety of challenges. Fiziev’s next challenge comes in the form of Mateusz Gamrot, a fighter with a different skill set than Gaethje. While Gaethje is known for his striking prowess and brawling style, Gamrot is a high-level grappler with a penchant for taking the fight to the ground. This presents a unique challenge for Fiziev, who must now prepare for a different type of battle. Fiziev’s bout with Gaethje was primarily a striking contest, with both fighters exchanging heavy blows. In contrast, his fight against Gamrot is likely to involve a ground battle, with Gamrot aiming to take the fight to the mat and employ his grappling skills. Fiziev acknowledges the change in dynamics, stating, “Staying with me in the stand-up when I’m trying to stay calm and take control of my emotions and fight start, I don’t think it’s easy for anyone in this division. This is MMA. If he takes me down, I stand up,” Fiziev said. “I’m ready for this. If he takes me down 200 times, I’m ready to stand back up.” This level of preparedness and adaptability is essential in the UFC’s lightweight division, where fighters must be well-rounded and capable of thriving in various scenarios. Gamrot’s Path to Redemption Mateusz Gamrot, with his 22-2-1 record, has also faced his share of challenges and setbacks in his MMA journey. After a loss to Beneil Dariush, Gamrot rebounded with a victory over Jalin Turner. While the win over Turner was a step in the right direction, it’s not the kind of performance that propels a fighter into immediate title contention. Gamrot’s path to redemption continues with his bout against Fiziev. A victory in this high-profile matchup would undoubtedly elevate his status in the lightweight division. Gamrot’s wrestling pedigree and ability to dictate the pace of the fight could prove to be a significant factor in his quest for success. Both Fiziev and Gamrot understand the gravity of this fight and the implications it carries for their respective careers. The lightweight division is fiercely competitive, and every win or loss can have a significant impact on a fighter’s trajectory. Mutual Respect and Similar Impressions One intriguing aspect of this matchup is the mutual respect between Fiziev and Gamrot. Both fighters have shared their thoughts on each other’s strengths and weaknesses, showing a level of sportsmanship and professionalism that is often a hallmark of mixed martial arts. “Fiziev went to make war, but Justin Gaethje wanted to win the fight and made a technical fight,” Gamrot told CBS Sports. “Fiziev’s conditioning was bad in [Round 3], and maybe that’s why he lost. It was a super technical, high-level striking fight.” These respectful exchanges highlight the maturity and sportsmanship of both fighters. They understand the challenges that lie ahead and are fully aware of each other’s capabilities. It’s a refreshing departure from the trash talk and animosity that sometimes precede fights. Rafael Fiziev Shares Surprising Prediction For Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler

Rafael Fiziev eagerly looks forward to Conor McGregor potentially returning against Michael Chandler. The mercurial UFC lightweight contender recently shared his thoughts on the matchup and claimed that Iron has the upper hand.  Conor McGregor has been out of action since July 2021 due to suffering a nasty leg injury against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. Over the past two years, the Irishman underwent intensive surgery and physical rehabilitation. After recovering from his fracture, McGregor made his public return as a coach on The Ultimate Fighter 31 opposite Chandler. The media highly touted the two explosive strikers as each other’s next opponents. Fans were understandably hyped about the idea of Michael Chandler welcoming Conor McGregor back to the octagon. However, the matchmaking process has not been smooth and seems to have hit a snag. The problem stems from McGregor’s absence from the USADA’s drug-testing pool.  He must spend at least six months in it and provide two clean samples before he can compete again. However, that hasn’t happened yet and doesn’t seem close to happening either.  In a recent interview with MMA Fighting, Rafael Fiziev pointed out how Conor McGregor’s complacency will prove expensive for him. ‘Ataman’ weighed in on the Irishman’s next proposed matchup and predicted a win for Michael Chandler. Claiming that McGregor has lost focus after becoming a superstar, Fiziev urged Chandler to control his emotions.  Fiziev claimed that if ‘Iron’ managed to reel his emotions in and fight smart, he could easily beat McGregor. He urged ‘Iron’ to follow the gameplan, claiming that Chandler isn’t fighting prime McGregor from 6-7 years ago.  This weekend, UFC Vegas 79 will feature Rafael Fiziev facing off against Mateusz Gamrot in a five-round contest.. The Fight Night event will take place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Fiziev is coming off a third-round decision loss to Justin Gaethje at UFC 286.
