Drew McIntyre Shows The Glimpse Of Heel Turn In The Latest Episode Of WWE RAW

WWE has been dropping hints about Drew McIntyre’s potential villainous transformation on television. On the September 25th, 2023 episode of RAW, McIntyre explained why he didn’t come to Jey Uso’s aid during an attack by Judgment Day the previous week. Kofi Kingston then joined in, accusing McIntyre of acting heartless and cowardly. For two weeks in a row now, Drew McIntyre has walked away from the ring, leaving his opponent vulnerable to a beating, signaling a possible heel turn soon. Former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre had been struggling for quite some time. Ever since his defeat in the Universal Championship match against Roman Reigns at Clash At The Castle, McIntyre’s fortunes seem to be dwindling on the big stage. His mounting frustration has been evident for months, as he’s been dropping hints that he might finally embrace a villainous persona. This inclination was once again apparent in the latest episode of RAW. This week on the red brand, Drew McIntyre faced off against Kofi Kingston in a singles match. However, the match was interrupted by Ivar from the Viking Raiders, who attacked Xavier Woods at ringside, distracting Kofi. Kofi wanted to help Woods, but McIntyre thwarted his efforts with a devastating Claymore kick, securing the victory. After the match, Ivar continued his assault on Kofi. Surprisingly, instead of coming to Kingston’s rescue, the Scottish Warrior simply walked away from the ring, allowing the attack to unfold. As fans showered him with boos for not aiding their beloved Kofi, it became evident that the long-anticipated heel turn is drawing closer. This character transformation is much-needed for Drew McIntyre, who was getting lost in the shuffle with his current persona. Drew McIntyre demonstrated in 2020 that he has the potential to lead the company and become a champion. Therefore, if his heel turn is executed well, McIntyre could ascend to become one of the top stars on RAW. Additionally, this shift could inject new life into storylines involving other superstars like Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins, and Sami Zayn.

3 Reasons Why WWE Made Drew McIntyre To Take Turn Heel

Drew McIntyre To Miss Next Week's WWE Raw for Mystery "Outside Gig"

In the world of professional wrestling, character changes are as common as body slams and suplexes. These alterations can either propel a wrestler to new heights of popularity or turn them into one of the most despised figures in the sport. In recent WWE news, Drew McIntyre, the Scottish Warrior, has made a surprising character change by turning heel, and fans are buzzing with speculation about why WWE made this bold move. This article explores the three reasons behind WWE’s decision to turn Drew McIntyre into a heel and two key factors that may suggest otherwise. From revitalising Monday Night RAW to addressing fan demand, let’s delve into the intriguing world of Drew McIntyre’s character shift. Monday Night RAW has been a staple in WWE’s programming for decades, but even the most enduring shows need a fresh injection of energy from time to time. With Jey Uso’s Return, Raw’s New Spotlight Jey Uso’s return to the Red brand brings an intriguing dynamic to Monday Night Raw. It sets the stage for a potential showdown with a heel Drew McIntyre, a clash that could become the focal point of the show. This fresh rivalry has the potential to reinvigorate RAW and capture the audience’s imagination in entirely new ways. Furthermore, Drew McIntyre’s heel turn doesn’t just offer a fresh storyline; it unlocks a treasure trove of creative possibilities. For the former WWE Champion, this shift in character opens doors to reshaping his persona, paving the way for compelling rivalries that will undoubtedly keep fans glued to their screens. WWE understands the importance of keeping their flagship show engaging and unpredictable, and McIntyre’s heel turn is a strategic move in that direction. A Chance at Another World Championship Run Drew McIntyre’s illustrious career has seen him hold the WWE Championship on multiple occasions, firmly establishing himself in the upper echelons of WWE. However, recent times have witnessed setbacks and losses for the heroic McIntyre, including his Intercontinental Championship match defeat at WrestleMania 39. This transformation into a heel character presents a golden opportunity to rebuild and reestablish McIntyre as a dominant force in WWE. Seth Rollins currently wears the mantle of a babyface World Heavyweight Champion, setting the stage for a potentially captivating rivalry with a heel McIntyre. Fans have borne witness to the Scottish Warrior’s indomitable spirit and unyielding determination, making a heel turn the perfect catalyst for another remarkable World Championship run. WWE’s decision to make McIntyre a heel could be a strategic manoeuvre to position him for a triumphant return to the main event scene. Responding to the Unyielding Fan Demand The WWE Universe is renowned for its passionate and vocal fanbase, whose influence often shapes the course of storylines and character arcs. A significant driving force behind Drew McIntyre’s heel turn is the unrelenting demand from fans for change. Speculation about McIntyre’s transformation into a heel had been swirling, with many hoping for a dramatic shift, potentially at Money in the Bank this year. Though those hopes didn’t materialise, fans have eagerly anticipated the Scottish Warrior’s heel turn. Many wrestling aficionados believe that Drew McIntyre’s heroic character has been constrained, limiting his opportunities to showcase his full potential within WWE. They yearned for a change that would unleash his darker, more aggressive side. In heeding the audience’s fervent calls for change, WWE has strategically made the decision to grant fans what they’ve longed for. Considering Contrary Perspectives While compelling reasons advocate for Drew McIntyre’s heel turn, it is equally essential to weigh the contrasting viewpoints. One pertinent argument against turning Drew McIntyre into a heel revolves around the current lack of captivating babyface stars on the RAW roster. Presently, notable babyface superstars on RAW include Jey Uso, Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins, and Drew McIntyre himself. However, speculation abounds that Jey Uso’s stay on Raw may not be permanent, and rumours persist about Cody potentially making a move to SmackDown. If these changes come to fruition, it would leave RAW with Drew McIntyre and Seth Rollins as the two prominent babyface figures. Conversely, RAW boasts a roster teeming with formidable heel stars, including Gunther, Shinsuke Nakamura, and the entire Judgement Day faction. With the heel side well represented, the necessity of transforming McIntyre into a villainous character becomes a subject of scrutiny, particularly in light of the potential imbalance it could create between heel and face personas. Another pivotal consideration revolves around whether Drew McIntyre’s heel turn aligns harmoniously with WWE’s current landscape and storytelling. McIntyre has played a vital role in WWE’s global expansion efforts, as exemplified by the Superstar Spectacle event held in India. Before this groundbreaking event, Drew actively engaged with Indian fans and made a heartfelt promise to bring WWE’s spectacle to the subcontinent. Moreover, McIntyre’s existing character has formed a strong bond with fans, including a younger audience that reveres him as a heroic figure. Transitioning him into a villainous character at this juncture might feel abrupt and potentially discordant with the current WWE scenario. WWE strategically positioned him as a global ambassador, and altering his character may not seamlessly align with the company’s long-term vision and objectives. Drew McIntyre’s heel turn has sparked significant interest and discussion among WWE fans. While there are compelling reasons for this character shift, including injecting fresh energy into RAW, positioning him for another World Championship run, and responding to fan demand, there are also valid arguments against it, such as the shortage of top babyface stars and the timing of the change. Ultimately, WWE’s decision to turn Drew McIntyre into a heel will be a pivotal moment in his career and in the landscape of Monday Night RAW. It remains to be seen how this transformation will unfold and whether it will lead to greater success for the Scottish Warrior in the world of professional wrestling. As WWE continues to evolve and adapt to its audience’s preferences, the only certainty is that the WWE Universe will be closely watching McIntyre’s journey in the coming weeks and

Drew McIntyre On CM Punk’s Potential WWE Return, ”I Don’t Make Those Decisions”

Drew McIntyre On CM Punk

The wrestling world has been abuzz with speculation about CM Punk’s future following his unexpected departure from AEW. With fans and pundits speculating about the possibility of a WWE return, former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre was asked for his thoughts on the matter. In a recent interview, McIntyre offered his perspective on Punk’s controversial nature and the excitement he generates within the wrestling community. The CM Punk Saga CM Punk’s journey through the world of professional wrestling has been marked by its twists and turns. From his storied tenure in WWE, where he became a six-time world champion and a fan favorite, to his contentious stint in AEW, Punk has remained a divisive and headline-grabbing figure. Punk’s exit from AEW, stemming from an incident with Jack Perry at AEW All In, marked the conclusion of a significant chapter in his career. Since parting ways with the promotion, Punk has maintained a relatively low profile, leaving fans and industry insiders speculating about his next move. Drew McIntyre’s Diplomatic Stance In a recent interview with “Sportskeeda,” Drew McIntyre was asked to weigh in on the hot-button topic of CM Punk’s potential WWE return. McIntyre, known for his composed and thoughtful responses, chose his words carefully, recognizing that the ultimate decision lies beyond his control. McIntyre offered a concise perspective: “I mean, I don’t make those decisions. I watch what I say in interviews. But he’s certainly controversial and he gets people talking, so I’ll leave it at that.” Divided Opinions on CM Punk’s WWE Comeback Within WWE, the notion of CM Punk’s return has sparked a spectrum of opinions. While some individuals within the company reportedly have reservations about rehiring Punk, others have voiced their support for the idea. Notably, Zelina Vega, whose husband, Malakai Black, shared the ring with Punk during his AEW run, has been among those in favor of Punk’s potential return. However, Punk’s tumultuous history with WWE adds an additional layer of complexity to the scenario. His acrimonious departure from the company in 2014, following the Royal Rumble event, resulted in years of strained relations between Punk and WWE. Despite previous interest from Fox, WWE decided against actively pursuing Punk’s return a few years ago due to the lingering animosity. The Uncertain Future of CM Punk As the wrestling community eagerly awaits news of CM Punk’s next career move, Drew McIntyre’s diplomatic response underscores the intricacies of the situation. Punk’s reputation for controversy and his ability to generate discussion ensure that his name will remain a topic of fervent debate among wrestling enthusiasts. Whether CM Punk will make a triumphant return to WWE or opt for alternative avenues within the wrestling landscape remains a subject of speculation and anticipation. Ultimately, the decision lies in the hands of those who hold the keys to the wrestling kingdom, leaving fans and industry insiders alike eager to see how this chapter of Punk’s journey unfolds.

Drew McIntyre Extends His WWE Contract, Says ‘He Doesn’t Want To Be Anywhere Else’

Drew McIntyre talked to the media before the Superstar Spectacle event in India that ended last Friday. He mentioned that he doesn’t have any plans to leave WWE. Lately, there have been many reports about his relationship with the company in 2023. In April, it was said that his WWE contract is in its final year, and both sides haven’t agreed on a new one yet. Recently, during an interview with The Hindustan Times to promote the Superstar Spectacle event in Hyderabad, India, McIntyre addressed his status with WWE. He mentioned, “People on the internet continue discussing my future, I suppose. But I’m focused on the present. I don’t dwell on the past or the future. Right now, my job is to ensure we deliver the best show possible to the fans in Hyderabad. I plan to give my best performance at every show, and I don’t intend to go anywhere else.” In May, Dave Meltzer reported that WWE has the option to extend McIntyre’s contract due to his time away from the company being related to creative issues. Meltzer noted, “If WWE wants, they can freeze and extend his contract because of his absence. WWE has done this with other wrestlers who wanted to leave in the past. It’s worth mentioning that, as far as we know, McIntyre hasn’t asked to leave, but they haven’t reached a new agreement either. However, there’s a clear role for him as a heel who could challenge Rollins.” In July, during an interview with TMZ, McIntyre acknowledged some truth to the rumors about his WWE status. He commented, “It’s intriguing to observe the various stories circulating about me. When you’re not on TV, people speculate. Some of those rumors might have had some basis, but it’s nice that people were talking about me even when I wasn’t on TV.” Currently, McIntyre is involved in a program with Matt Riddle on Raw.

Bully Ray sends message to Vince McMahon about Drew McIntyre

Drew McIntyre’s highly anticipated return at Money in the Bank was met with great excitement, but according to Bully Ray, “The Scottish Warrior” still needs to display more personality in WWE to truly stand out with his character work. Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Ray expressed his hope that McIntyre’s ongoing feud with WWE Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER would bring out a different side of him, especially on the microphone. While Drew certainly has the look and fighting prowess of a top-tier wrestler, Ray feels that something is missing when it comes to his personality, particularly during his promos. Bully Ray wants Drew McIntyre to be destroyed on the WWE Ray acknowledged that McIntyre had to carry the company during challenging times, referring to the period of low audience attendance due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite no fault of his own, Ray believes this situation may have impacted Drew’s character development and audience connection. Drawing inspiration from Will Ospreay’s passionate promo on “AEW Dynamite,” where Ospreay shared his real-life struggles during the COVID era, Ray encouraged McIntyre to do the same By sharing his own trials and tribulations, Drew could inject more depth and authenticity into his character, further engaging the fans: “I’m hoping that GUNTHER can bring out a different side of Drew — on the microphone [and] personality-wise. I have gone on record, there’s something about Drew’s personality that doesn’t fully resonate. He looks the part, he fights the part, he stands there the part, he’s everything the part — other than when he talks. When Drew talks, I can’t get as into him as I have with everything else he has done. He will always be the guy that had to carry the company when there was nobody there. By no fault of his, I do think it affected him. Will [Ospreay] laid out the real-life trials and tribulations he had to go through during the COVID era — just to keep doing what he loves. That’s what I would love to hear coming out of Drew’s [mouth].“ Ray also reflected on Drew’s previous stint in WWE’s main roster in 2018, where he displayed a “badass” attitude while playing the role of Dolph Ziggler’s heavy. He questioned whether Drew could tap into that persona once again or even consider a heel turn, citing the success of Roman Reigns and Dominik Mysterio, who experienced significant character growth after turning heel. As the WWE Universe eagerly anticipates SummerSlam, where Drew McIntyre will clash with GUNTHER, the hope remains that this feud will bring out the best in Drew’s character and showcase the personality that will resonate with fans on a deeper level.
