Pop Singer Taylor Swift Says, Jeff Jarrett’s Is A Family Friend, She Babysat His Kids
Taylor Swift’s rise to fame has been nothing short of extraordinary since her music career took off around 2008. The 12-time Grammy Award-winning artist continues to captivate audiences with The Eras Tour. Given today’s diverse world, it may seem surprising to connect Taylor Swift with the world of wrestling.
However, there is indeed a connection between Taylor Swift and wrestling, and it revolves around former WWE star Jeff Jarrett. Until last year, Jarrett held the position of Senior Vice President of Live Events at WWE. In November, he made his debut on AEW Dynamite and allied with Jay Lethal, Satnam Singh, and Sonjay Dutt. He also serves as the Director of Business Development for the promotion.
A few years back, during an interview, the 56-year-old Jeff Jarrett shared a heartwarming story about Taylor Swift spending time with his daughters. He recounted, “When Taylor released ‘Mine,’ she came over to our house. Jeremy Borash and I were having a creative meeting downstairs. Taylor would visit, and take our girls to her house, and they would bake cookies and do various activities together. On one occasion, Taylor even brought Joe Jonas along.”
The AEW star also mentioned that his daughter Jaclyn bore a striking resemblance to a young Taylor Swift and was cast in Swift’s ‘Mine’ music video, released in 2010 and now boasting over 316 million views.
Jeff Jarrett recalled the experience, saying, “The ‘Mine’ video is so imaginative, and my daughter Jaclyn looked like a mini Taylor. We were out on the lake when Taylor approached us and, as bold as she always is, said, ‘I want Jaclyn in the video.’ We flew up to Maine, where they filmed the video. On set, we had to surrender our cell phones and follow various rules. It was a wonderful experience for the kids.”
In the opening scenes of the music video, a couple is seen arguing as their daughter enters the room, and that daughter is Jaclyn Jarrett. “Mine” was released in 2008 as part of Swift’s Fearless album, which featured several hit singles like “Love Story,” “You Belong with Me,” and “Fifteen.”
Interestingly, Jeff Jarrett shares another talent with Taylor Swift—he’s also a musician. In 1993, he joined WWE and became known for smashing guitars over the heads of his opponents, which became a signature part of his wrestling persona. He added flamboyant hats to his wrestling attire and often proclaimed, “Ain’t I great?” in his promos. Jarrett even released a music video for the song “With My Baby Tonight,” which he performed at the In Your House 2 pay-per-view event in 1995. He also made cameo appearances in music videos for other artists and bands.
As a wrestling veteran, Jeff Jarrett now hosts his podcast titled ‘My World With Jeff Jarrett,’ where he openly discusses the latest developments in the wrestling world.
