Nate Diaz reacts to Drake losing $250k on his loss to Jake Paul – “F**k the curse!”
Nate Diaz is seemingly the latest victim of the infamous Drake curse.
The Stockton slugger faced Jake Paul in his boxing debut last weekend, and the chart-topping rapper had wagered an eye-watering $250,000 on Diaz to win. Unfortunately for Drake, Paul secured a unanimous decision win after a ten-round battle. During their exciting back-and-forth match, ‘The Problem Child’ even managed to drop Diaz in the fifth round. As a result, Drake ended up losing his stake money.
This wasn’t the first time the multi-time Grammy-winning artist has lost money on a combat sports event. While Drake has made no secret of his outrageous love for gambling, he’s also known to jinx athletes he publically backs. After several sportspersons and sporting teams lost after Drake bet on them, fans began calling the phenomenon ‘The Drake Curse.’
In a post-fight press conference, Nate Diaz was informed of the rapper’s misfortune. Responding to allegedly becoming the latest victim of the ‘Drake curse,’ he said:
“Yeah, whatever. Shoutout to Drake. Love for the love. I appreciate it, you know what I’m saying. What the f**k, aye. Someone break that curse. What’s happening? F**k the curse.”
Jake Paul sounds off on Nate Diaz for illegal chokehold during boxing match
Jake Paul wasn’t happy about Nate Diaz putting him in a chokehold during their boxing match last weekend. ‘The Problem Child’ recently lambasted the former UFC star for his foul tactics.
During the final round, Diaz showed a glimpse of his MMA pedigree by applying a momentary guillotine choke on Paul. While the choke didn’t look serious, fans went into a frenzy to see the jiu-jitsu maestro showing off his moves in a boxing ring.
In a post-fight press conference, Nate Diaz clarified that the choke wasn’t tight and he didn’t squeeze Jake Paul’s neck. However, ‘The Problem Child’ had a different story to tell. Claiming that Diaz actually choked him, he said:
“He f**king choked me! He was actually choking me. I was like, ‘This is crazy’. I didn’t think he was gonna stop but he had it in… That’s why I want to do it back in MMA… If it was it was MMA, I would have dropped to a double-leg, picked him up, and dropped him on his head.”
