Kurt Angle Gives His Opinion On Gable Stevenson Says,’ He’s Going To Have A Great Future’

2 years ago By Jhon Woug

Gable Steveson, touted as the “second coming of Kurt Angle,” embarked on his WWE journey amid high expectations. Fans anticipated witnessing another “Olympic Hero” create unforgettable moments and inject youthful charisma into the promotion’s future. However, his debut at NXT’s The Great American Bash left a bitter taste in many mouths. Despite facing Baron Corbin, who’s been described as a “charisma vacuum,” Steveson faced relentless boos from the audience. Suddenly, his WWE future was cast into doubt, prompting both fans and pundits to question his potential.

The Great American Bash seemed like a disaster for Steveson, but one person remains unwavering in their belief in the Olympic Gold medalist’s professional wrestling career – none other than Kurt Angle himself. Angle, in an interview with Chris Van Vliet, shared his thoughts on the 23-year-old’s future, shedding light on Steveson’s incredible athleticism and charisma.

“First of all, he’s an incredible athlete. You know, he’s not only incredible on the mat wrestling, I mean, this kid, you know, he can do backflips. He’s really athletic, super athletic. And I think he’s gonna have a great future,” Angle began, expressing his admiration for Steveson’s athleticism. However, Angle acknowledged the challenges Steveson might face transitioning from amateur wrestling to the world of professional wrestling.

Amateur wrestling, Angle explained, is about maintaining focus and showing minimal emotion. In contrast, professional wrestling demands an entirely different set of skills – the ability to convey emotions, from fear to excitement, to the audience. Charisma plays a pivotal role in professional wrestling, something Angle believes Steveson possesses. Nevertheless, Angle acknowledged that Steveson might need to shed his amateur wrestling persona, and showing more emotion could be the key to his success in WWE.

Angle also touched on Steveson’s potential on the mic, highlighting the importance of the ability to cut a compelling promo. He recalled working with Steveson on a pre-taped segment in Pittsburgh, acknowledging that while Steveson didn’t perform exceptionally, he showed promise. Angle’s assessment was that Steveson has the potential to be “pretty good” in the world of professional wrestling.

While Angle remains optimistic about Steveson’s future, he also emphasized that the young wrestler’s career might not mirror Angle’s own storied path. Nonetheless, Angle firmly believes that Steveson can carve out a successful career in WWEThe Future of Gable Steveson in WWE

The question on everyone’s minds is whether Gable Steveson still has a future in WWE. The answer, according to Kurt Angle, is a resounding yes, but it comes with a caveat – a potential character shift. Angle suggests that a heel turn could be the solution to Steveson’s recent troubles with the WWE Universe. By embracing the role of a villain, Steveson could transform those boos into an integral part of his character.

As for how WWE chooses to navigate this situation, that remains uncertain. Steveson has been conspicuously absent from WWE programming since his double-count out match against Corbin at The Great American Bash. The promotion undoubtedly faces an intriguing challenge in determining the best path forward for this promising young talent.

In the unpredictable world of professional wrestling, anything is possible. Gable Steveson’s future in WWE remains an enigma, but with the guidance and optimism of Kurt Angle, there’s still hope for this Olympic Gold medalist to shine brightly in the squared circle. The next chapter of Steveson’s WWE journey is eagerly anticipated by fans and industry insiders alike, eager to witness how this young athlete evolves in the world of sports entertainment.
