John Cena Gets Emotional After His First WWE Match In India, Says “He Waited 20 Years For This Moment”
John Cena is a superstar in his own right, and his name always carries significant value. Despite taking on a part-time role for the past six years, he’s now on the longest continuous run in this capacity.
Recently, John Cena headlined WWE Superstar Spectacle in India, where he teamed up with World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins and emerged victorious. This was a special moment for Cena as it marked his first-ever wrestling appearance in India, and he had openly expressed his eagerness for this opportunity. Despite the short duration of his time in India, Cena received an unsurprisingly huge reaction from the crowd, as he has a devoted fan base in the country.
After defeating Giovanni Vinci, who was once hailed as the pound-for-pound strongest man in WWE, with a double-finish involving a Stomp and Attitude Adjustment, John Cena closed the evening with a heartfelt message for the fans present:
“I wanted to ensure that everyone could hear my words tonight. Though it might be a short message, its significance holds great meaning to me. I appreciate the opportunity to be here with you all this evening. Sometimes, we feel something inside that touches us emotionally. I want to share something with all of you, and you can tell me if I’m alone in this, but I’m going to share it anyway. I’ve been imagining this moment for 20 years. I want to conclude tonight by saying that this moment was far greater than anything I could have ever imagined.”
Meanwhile, on RAW, Imperium’s Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci have been making an impression, especially Kaiser. However, the spotlight recently shifted to their leader, Gunther, who retained the Intercontinental Title by defeating Chad Gable. With this victory, Gunther now holds the record for the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion in WWE history.
On another note, John Cena is slated to make appearances on several episodes of Smackdown in the future, so it remains to be seen what WWE has planned for him.
