Jake Paul Says Nate Diaz Ducked $10-Million Offer For MMA Fight
Jake Paul recently hurled some serious accusations at Nate Diaz by claiming the former UFC star ducked an MMA fight. ‘The Problem Child’ also revealed that a massive $10 million purse could have been on the line had Diaz accepted.
In August, Paul and Diaz faced off in a boxing match at the American Airlines Center in Dallas. The 10-round affair was Diaz’s debut in the world of professional boxing and one to forget as well. While the Stockton slugger had his moments, Paul breezed through the fight and won via unanimous decision. In the aftermath, both men seemed cordial and even discussed a rematch under MMA rules.
Their boxing fight was the result of a long-running rivalry that stemmed from their infamous altercation before the Jake Paul vs. Anderson Silva fight last year. While they weren’t directly at war, their teams exchanged jabs and threw bottles at each other backstage. However, it seems it’s going to take a lot more for Diaz to accept an MMA fight against Paul.
TMZ Sports interviewed Jake Paul and asked him if he planned to have a rematch with Nate Diaz.. The YouTuber-turned-boxer made a startling revelation by claiming he had already sent Diaz’s team an offer. The professional MMA rules will govern the contest in the offered MMA fight.
Unfortunately, Nate Diaz straight-up refused the offer. Moreover, a $10 million prize money seemingly wasn’t enough for the former UFC star. Slamming Diaz’s cowardice, Jake Paul claimed he wanted to do something unique. He wanted to be a boxer who transitioned into MMA successfully. However, his dreams remain in limbo for now.
He added that he didn’t know why Nate Diaz refused and speculated that the UFC star could lose respect in the MMA community if he lost. It’s worth noting that Jake Paul has also called out Conor McGregor several times to no avail.
