Asuka’s title reign on SmackDown was not without challenges. She faced formidable opponents in Charlotte Flair and Bianca Belair. A bout with Flair ended in a no contest, while Belair secured a victory by disqualification, setting the stage for a high-stakes triple threat showdown at SummerSlam.

The Triple Threat Match witnessed an intense clash of wrestling prowess. As the three competitors battled for supremacy, disaster struck for Bianca Belair. A hard landing on the outside of the ring led to an apparent knee injury, and medical personnel rushed to assist her. Despite the setback, Belair displayed incredible resilience, returning to the match and executing a spectacular 450 splash onto Charlotte Flair. FlairThe drama escalated as Asuka found herself ensnared in Charlotte Flair’s Figure 8 submission hold, only for the situation to be turned on its head. Asuka retaliated by unleashing her signature poison mist on Flair, creating an opening for Belair. In a thrilling turn of events, Belair capitalized on the chaos, rolling up Asuka for the three-count and securing the WWE Women’s Championship.

However, the night’s excitement did not end with the championship victory. A new force emerged as IYO SKY rushed to the ring with Bayley and her Money In The Bank briefcase. Bayley felt her presence by incapacitating Flair and Asuka, paving the way for IYO SKY to deliver a decisive moonsault on Belair. In an electrifying moment, IYO SKY clinched the WWE Women’s Championship.

The injured Dakota Kai joined IYO SKY in celebration, completing the Damage CTRL lineup that had debuted a year prior at SummerSlam 2022. This triumphant moment underscored the bond and unity within the Damage CTRL faction, adding a layer of intrigue to the ever-evolving women’s division.
