Hall Of Famer Booker Says, THIS WWE Star Will Leave The Company

1 years ago By Sports Desk

In a significant development from the wrestling world, Hall of Famer Booker T, during his latest podcast episode, disclosed that Jagger Reid and Rip Fowler of The Dyad, the former NXT UK Tag Team Champions, will be departing from WWE once their contracts come to an end. The news seems to be in alignment with earlier speculations regarding the future of these two WWE stars.

For those unfamiliar with the trajectory of these two wrestling personalities, Reid and Fowler made a name for themselves as the dominating duo in the NXT UK division, where they held the championship title for a significant duration. Their electrifying chemistry in the ring and synergy as a tag team made them favorites among the audience. Their popularity and performance eventually paved the way for their move to the NXT brand in 2020, where they showcased their prowess to a broader fanbase.

It’s worth noting that The Dyad’s intention to part ways with WWE isn’t sudden or impulsive. Earlier this year, in April, the duo had expressed a desire to leave the company. Unfortunately, WWE, seeing their potential and perhaps hoping to retain their crowd-pulling capability, did not grant their request. The decision to remain might have been business-driven from WWE’s end, but it also hinted at a possible strain between the performers and the company.

Elaborating on the matter, Booker T, who is a known voice on the NXT as a color commentator and has closely observed The Dyad’s journey, shed some light on their decision. He implied that instead of entering into a tug-of-war with the company, Reid and Fowler decided to take a different route. They chose to let their contract period wind down organically. This move essentially indicates their willingness to explore opportunities outside the WWE universe once they are free agents.

One of the potential future destinations for The Dyad that’s been on the rumor mill is AEW. The wrestling organization has been gaining momentum over the past few years and is always on the lookout for fresh and established talent to boost its roster. Given the global reputation and the fanbase Reid and Fowler have amassed, it’s not far-fetched to think that AEW could be their next stop. Another potential avenue could be their return to the UK wrestling circuit, where they initially rose to fame.

Reflecting on their departure, Booker T, in his characteristic passionate style, expressed his sentiments about the duo. He mentioned that Jagger Reid and Rip Fowler were among his favorite wrestlers to watch. Their uniqueness, the energy they brought into the ring, and the stories they told through their matches made them stand out. Like many wrestling aficionados, the Hall of Famer too feels a tinge of disappointment at their exit, as he believes that The Dyad had a promising future ahead in WWE.

In the grand scheme of things, the world of wrestling has always been dynamic. Wrestlers come and go, and while organizations like WWE have a vast pool of talent, every departure leaves a void. The departure of a well-established tag team like The Dyad will undoubtedly be felt, both by the fans and the company.

As the October deadline of their contract looms, the wrestling community will be watching with bated breath. The next few weeks are crucial, not only for Jagger Reid and Rip Fowler but also for WWE and potentially AEW. Will this be a final goodbye, or is there a twist in the tale? Only time will tell.
