Former WWE Superstar Summer Rae wants to have an on-screen feud with Natalya

2 years ago By Sports Desk

A 39-year-old former WWE sensation is eager to make a comeback six years after departing from the wrestling scene. The star has expressed a strong desire to engage in a final rivalry with Natalya, adding an exciting chapter to their shared history.

Summer Rae’s Desire for an On-Screen Feud with Natalya: A Look into Their Unique Dynamic

Former WWE Superstar Summer Rae has expressed her keen interest in reigniting an on-screen feud with fellow wrestler Natalya. Summer, who actively participated in WWE for approximately six years, emerged as a prominent figure on Total Divas. During her tenure, she engaged in a highly charged rivalry with Natalya, a feud that many fans believed extended beyond the scripted narrative. Their tumultuous relationship played out until 2017 when Summer’s WWE journey concluded. Notably, Summer made a surprise return in the previous year for a cameo appearance in the Women’s Royal Rumble match, where Natalya eliminated her.

Behind the Scenes: Genuine Friendship and Training Bond Between Summer Rae and Natalya

In a recent interview conducted by Chris Van Vliet, Summer Rae provided insights into her relationship with Natalya, shattering misconceptions held by many. Contrary to popular belief, Summer and Natalya share a genuine friendship beyond the squared circle. In a revealing disclosure, Summer unveiled that she was a trainee at Natalya’s wrestling school, thereby solidifying their camaraderie. Summer further expressed her desire for one final on-screen feud with Natalya before the latter’s eventual retirement. She commended Natalya’s recent performance, citing her exceptional skills and patience as a trainer:

“Before Nattie departs from wrestling, a feud between us is a must. Her double seg match with Rhea was an absolute powerhouse, showcasing her prowess. Nattie’s remarkable training abilities often go unnoticed, and people are unaware of her exceptional patience. When wrestling is ingrained in your very being for decades, such qualities are innate,” Summer enthusiastically conveyed.

Dispelling the Myths: The Contrasting Reality of Natalya and Summer’s Relationship

The perception of a genuine feud between Natalya and Summer Rae has long intrigued WWE enthusiasts, stemming from an incident on Total Divas in 2014. The scene sparked a belief that real-life animosity existed between the two wrestlers, perpetuated by their continuous efforts to sustain this illusion.

During her conversation with Chris Van Vliet, Summer disclosed an intriguing facet of this narrative. She revealed that Natalya intentionally refrained from sharing images of their training sessions at her wrestling school on social media. This conscious decision was aimed at upholding the façade of enmity between them:

[The perception of genuine animosity between you and Nattie] I comprehend. I even contemplated whether I should maintain that dynamic throughout this interview, constantly playing up the Nattie angle. Interestingly, even when I train [at Natalya and TJ Wilson’s school], Nattie avoids featuring me on their Instagram account, with the intent of preserving the illusion. It’s a mutual understanding,” Summer disclosed.

In retrospect, their relationship defies the misconception of hostility, offering a glimpse into the intricate layers of WWE’s storytelling
