Cody Rhodes

In an unforgettable moment that left fans around the world talking, Cody Rhodes and Brock Lesnar took centre stage at SummerSlam 2023. However, it wasn’t just the match that created a buzz – it was what happened afterwards. The Unexpected Embrace SummerSlam 2023 will go down in history not just for the fiercely competitive battle between ‘The Beast’ Brock Lesnar and ‘The American Nightmare’ Cody Rhodes, but for an unscripted moment that followed the bell. A gesture that many believed was out of character for Lesnar. After seventeen minutes of intense action, Rhodes came out victorious. But what transpired post-match became the talk of the wrestling community. In a surprising turn of events, Brock Lesnar, who is not known for showing respect to his opponents, offered Cody Rhodes a handshake. The gesture wasn’t only unexpected by the fans but also by Rhodes himself. In a recent conversation with Sports Illustrated, Rhodes opened up about the shocking moment that took place between the two wrestling superstars. “As I saw him taking his gloves off, I sincerely thought he was going to start swinging,” Rhodes confessed. The atmosphere was tense. The two, fresh off a rigorous bout, found themselves locked in a stare, their faces mere inches apart. “We went head-to-head, and it felt like we were a millisecond away from starting up again,” Rhodes recalled. The uncertainty and the adrenaline, combined with Lesnar’s past antics, certainly contributed to Rhodes’ initial scepticism. However, what followed was nothing short of extraordinary. “So I didn’t anticipate that handshake coming. When I saw his hand, I was grateful.” A Rare Gesture from The Beast Brock Lesnar, with his storied career, is not known for moments of public respect or acknowledgement, especially after a loss. This made the gesture even more impactful. For many, it symbolized a moment of genuine respect between two professionals at the top of their game. Rhodes continued, “That’s not something he does. Again, this run has consistently surprised me.” The unpredictable nature of the sport is evident, and this moment was a testament to the authentic moments that can arise even amidst scripted storylines. “The Torch Isn’t Passed. You Have To Take It.” Rhodes’ journey in WWE has been one of consistent determination and proving his mettle against some of the best in the business. His victory against Lesnar wasn’t just a win; it was an affirmation of his position in the industry. And as he eloquently put it, “The torch isn’t passed. You have to take it.” In wrestling, as with any other sport or entertainment, moments like these transcend scripted storylines and resonate with audiences on a deeper level. They offer a rare glimpse into the genuine respect, camaraderie, and sportsmanship that lies beneath the surface. And while fans will continue to dissect the match’s highs and lows, it’s the unexpected handshake that will linger in memories for years to come.

Nia Jax Speculated to Make a Grand Return to WWE

Nia Jax

It seems the world of WWE might once again feel the tremors of Nia Jax’s signature moves. A buzz is circulating in the WWE universe, suggesting the return of the former WWE superstar. According to sources close to PWInsider, there have been whispers regarding Jax’s possible comeback. Though there’s no official confirmation about her appearance in tonight’s Raw, the WWE community is certainly abuzz with anticipation. A Controversial Exit Jax’s departure from WWE in late 2021 was nothing short of dramatic. Reports from the New York Post suggested her release was tied to her refusal to get vaccinated. However, things took an interesting turn when Jax hinted at undisclosed backstage issues on her social media platforms. She teased fans with the prospect of spilling the beans on some of the internal issues concerning how certain talents were treated by WWE management. New Management, New Opportunities The backstage environment of WWE has undergone a notable shift in recent times. With Triple H now holding the reins and Vince McMahon taking a step back from weekly travels, many believe the company’s working culture has changed for the better. The new dynamic could potentially pave the way for several past superstars, like Jax, to make their way back to the ring. Training for a Triumph It’s not just the rumours that have been fueling this speculation. Concrete proof of Jax’s commitment to wrestling came when she made a surprise appearance at the Royal Rumble last year. Furthermore, it’s become apparent that she’s been putting in the hours outside the ring as well. Recent reports suggest Jax has been rigorously training and working on her physique. And who better to aid her in this quest than Charlotte Flair, one of WWE’s premier athletes? With Flair’s guidance and Jax’s determination, fans can expect to see a rejuvenated and more formidable wrestler if and when she steps back into the WWE arena. A Potential Return with New Challenges If Nia Jax does indeed return, it’ll be interesting to see the new challenges and storylines that await her. Given her history and the recent transformations she’s undergone, both personally and professionally, there’s potential for riveting rivalries and possibly a few alliance shifts. Will she align herself with former allies, or will new alliances be forged? Could we witness a dream matchup between her and some of the newer talents that have risen in her absence? The possibilities are endless. As the world of WWE remains ever-evolving, the potential return of Nia Jax has added another layer of excitement for fans worldwide. Whether these rumours culminate into a full-fledged return remains to be seen. But one thing is certain, with her renewed vigour and the current backstage environment, if Jax does return, it promises to be a spectacle worth watching.

Gunther believes London is a perfect location for the upcoming WrestleMania

Gunther holds the belief that the potential exists for WrestleMania to occur in a recently hinted-at new venue featured on television. John Cena’s Hint Sparks Speculation The wrestling world has been abuzz ever since John Cena made an appearance at WWE’s Money In The Bank event, dropping a tantalizing hint about the possibility of WrestleMania taking place in England. This notion has ignited discussions and debates about whether this ambitious idea could become a reality. The reigning Intercontinental Champion, GUNTHER, has now added his perspective to the ongoing conversation, sharing his thoughts with the Daily Mail. GUNTHER’s Take on the Prospect GUNTHER, who transitioned from NXT to the main roster in April of the previous year, has been making waves with an undefeated streak. As he approaches The Honkey Tonk Man’s remarkable 454-day record as the Intercontinental champion, GUNTHER shared his insights in a pre-SummerSlam interview with Mail Sport. He reflected on his impressive 2023 run and shared his memories of WWE’s grand summer spectacle. Could WrestleMania Truly Land in London? One of the most intriguing revelations at Money in the Bank was John Cena’s suggestion of the potential WrestleMania venue shift to London. When asked about the feasibility of this idea, GUNTHER expressed his support, stating, “I could totally see that. I think Clash at the Castle proved that selling out those huge stadiums is not a huge deal for WWE at the moment. The people want to experience it, so if they get the logistics done and everything else that comes with that because it could be a little bit tricky to run Europe, I really hope it’s something they go for.” The Challenge of an Epic Reign GUNTHER’s reign as the Intercontinental Champion has been nothing short of spectacular. With a reign spanning 423 days, he stands on the brink of surpassing The Honkey Tonk Man’s historic record, potentially becoming the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion in history. Despite the excitement among fans, GUNTHER expressed reservations about a scripted face-off with The Honky Tonk Man on screen. Speaking to Metro UK, he articulated, “No, I don’t think so. I think he [The Honky Tonk Man] had his time, he’s still got the record — it’s not broken, we will see what happens. I think I operate on a different level than him when it comes to what we do in the ring. I think my presentation’s very different, and also how I carry myself. I think it would just not be a good fit. I don’t think anybody would benefit from that,” said Gunther. Growing Wrestling Demand in the UK The wrestling fervor in the United Kingdom is undeniable, evident in WWE’s major premium live events organized in the region over the past two years. Additionally, AEW’s forthcoming event at Wembley Stadium, “All In,” further underscores the demand for wrestling in this part of the world. WWE’s global expansion is also evident through events outside the continental United States, including shows in Saudi Arabia and the recent PLE in Puerto Rico, contributing to the company’s growth. Political Interest Fuels Speculation The potential prospect of WrestleMania coming to England has even captured the attention of British politicians. Alex Davies-Jones, Labour Party MP for Pontypridd, has advocated for this exciting venture, adding to the speculation surrounding the event. However, while the idea of WrestleMania taking place in England is tantalizing, it appears that the nearest feasible date for this to happen would be WrestleMania 41. Reports suggest that WWE’s current focus remains on hosting that grand show within the United States.

Roman Reigns tweets after the win over Jey Uso

In the aftermath of his victory at SummerSlam, Roman Reigns broke his silence by making his presence known on Twitter. Reigns’ Dominant Victory and Betrayal: WWE Universal Championship Main Event In the main event of the high-profile live spectacle, Reigns emerged victorious against Jey Uso, solidifying his grasp on the WWE Universal Championship. The final moments of the match witnessed the return of Jimmy Uso to WWE television. Surprisingly, Jimmy turned his back on his brother, betraying him. Reigns’ Post-SummerSlam Message: Embracing the Role of The Tribal Chief Following this latest successful title defense, Reigns appears to be savoring life beyond the wrestling ring. He conveyed a strong message in his tweet, saying, “Guardian Role. Still Reigning as The Sole Tribal Chief.” Take a look at Reigns’ tweet and post-SummerSlam message below: A Complex Rivalry Unfolds: The Bloodline Saga Reigns’ rivalry with Jey Uso kicked off several months ago. After The Usos’ defeat against Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens at WrestleMania 39, the Head of the Table was far from pleased with his cousins. This eventually led to Jimmy Uso departing from The Bloodline after his betrayal of Reigns at Night of Champions. Shortly thereafter, Jey followed in his brother’s footsteps, exiting the faction in a similar manner. Vince Russo’s Intriguing Suggestion for the Bloodline Storyline Vince Russo suggests that a new member of the Anoa’i family should dethrone Roman Reigns from his historic title reign. In a conversation on Sportskeeda Wrestling’s “Writing with Russo,” the former WWE head writer shared his concept for the ongoing Bloodline storyline. “If I were scripting this and the entire storyline revolves around The Bloodline, then the torch has to be passed within The Bloodline. Having an outsider like Cody [Rhodes] return? Look, there are still many family members we haven’t been introduced to. That’s why I’m saying, it should be someone novel and refreshing who steps onto the scene and starts from here,” Russo suggested. He continued:“It won’t work if it’s someone who’s been on the roster for a decade, a person who’s been around forever. That won’t cut it. It should be like, ‘We thought it was concluded,’ and then there are more individuals within this family that you’re unaware of. But, you know, we understand how things are done, and it looks like it might be Cody.” Uncertain Future: Reigns’ Next Adversary Reigns’ next WWE adversary and storyline have yet to be determined after the dramatic conclusion of SummerSlam. Who would you like to see as Roman Reigns’ next opponent in the WWE? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.

This matchup warrants further exploration in due time. Both of us are currently at the pinnacle of our careers, and there is a long road ahead. I’m confident we’ll cross paths again. The question is when?”

Chelsea Green pushes her husband to make his WWE return to retire Edge

Potential Final Feud for Edge Sparks Speculation Among Wrestling Fans. Edge’s Absence from WWE TV Raises Questions About His Retirement Edge’s Mysterious Disappearance and the Potential End of an In-Ring Era Edge, a familiar face in the WWE universe, has vanished from television screens after a string of frequent appearances across various shows, culminating in his presence at WrestleMania 39. His most recent rivalry pitted him against Finn Balor during The Judgment Day event. Despite their history, there are other contenders that fans believe could hold a higher rank for Edge’s grand finale. WWE Universe Anticipates Edge’s Ultimate Showdown Throughout his WWE tenure, Edge engaged in numerous captivating rivalries. Among those that significantly shaped his career are his feuds with John Cena and the current AEW sensation, Christian. Although a final showdown with John Cena remains plausible as of now, the possibility of an Edge vs. Christian clash seems less likely. Fans have taken to expressing their opinions on who should be The Rated-R Superstar’s ultimate opponent, sparking a whirlwind of speculation. Edge’s Unexplored Matches with Cena and Christian Curiously, Edge has never squared off against John Cena or Christian in a Show of Shows showdown. In 2009, a triple-threat match involving Edge, Cena, and Big Show for the World Heavyweight Championship did take place, but a one-on-one encounter has yet to materialize. WrestleMania 40: The Crossroads of Edge’s Career Edge, a bona fide Hall of Famer, has indicated that WrestleMania 40 marks the outer limit of his ability to deliver matches of the caliber he holds himself to. Given this perspective, it begs the question—why not arrange a match for Edge against a familiar adversary with whom he shares a history?

Conor McGregor reacts to Nate Diaz vs. Jake Paul boxing bout, calls for trilogy with former foe

Conor McGregor wasn’t impressed by Nate Diaz’s performance against Jake Paul. The Irishman recently reacted to the Stockton native’s boxing debut and called for a trilogy fight against his former rival.  Diaz fought ‘The Problem Child’ in a ten-round boxing match at the American Airlines Center last weekend. In the fight, Diaz put his legendary gas tank and durability on display and relentlessly applied pressure on the YouTuber-turned-boxer. However, Paul cruised to a unanimous decision victory and even managed to knock Diaz down in the fifth round.  Soon after the fight concluded, Conor McGregor took to Twitter and expressed his thoughts on the match. Lambasting his former rival for not getting the win, he wrote: “I gonna serve up your liver on a sandwich in the trilogy m8. Out straight. I won’t even hit your face. That was abysmal last night.” ‘The Notorious’ continued to viciously attack ‘The Problem Child’ and wrote: “Paul is a r*tard. Absolute garbage he is. Moving backward like I was watching a fight in rewind. Holy garbage. Embarrassing stuff all around IMO.” Jorge Masvidal wants to fight Conor McGregor outside the octagon  Jorge Masvidal recently sounded off on Conor McGregor and claimed he’s ready to fight the Irishman on the streets. The former BMF champion retired after a unanimous decision loss against Gilbert Burns at UFC 287 in April. The loss marked his fourth consecutive defeat in the octagon. While the 38-year-old has previously exchanged harsh words with McGregor, their fight never materialized. However, both have expressed an eagerness to face each other at some point in their careers.  In a recent interview with TMZ Sports, ‘Gamebred’ addressed a potential fight against Conor McGregor and said: “Really I would like to fight Conor because he’s such a bi**h. I can’t stand that dude. But him on the street for free, ’cause he’ll never fight me in the ring. He never mentions my f**king name in a comment… Calling out Dustin [Poirier] and Justin [Gaethje]. Shut the f**k up, and do the due process. You f**king bi**h!” Conor McGregor hasn’t competed since suffering a leg fracture against Dustin Poirier in July 2021. He is currently coaching on The Ultimate Fighter opposite Michael Chandler and the two are expected to fight in the octagon after the show concludes.  Watch the full video below:

Nate Diaz reacts to Drake losing $250k on his loss to Jake Paul – “F**k the curse!”

Nate Diaz is seemingly the latest victim of the infamous Drake curse.  The Stockton slugger faced Jake Paul in his boxing debut last weekend, and the chart-topping rapper had wagered an eye-watering $250,000 on Diaz to win. Unfortunately for Drake, Paul secured a unanimous decision win after a ten-round battle. During their exciting back-and-forth match, ‘The Problem Child’ even managed to drop Diaz in the fifth round. As a result, Drake ended up losing his stake money.  This wasn’t the first time the multi-time Grammy-winning artist has lost money on a combat sports event. While Drake has made no secret of his outrageous love for gambling, he’s also known to jinx athletes he publically backs. After several sportspersons and sporting teams lost after Drake bet on them, fans began calling the phenomenon ‘The Drake Curse.’ In a post-fight press conference, Nate Diaz was informed of the rapper’s misfortune. Responding to allegedly becoming the latest victim of the ‘Drake curse,’ he said: “Yeah, whatever. Shoutout to Drake. Love for the love. I appreciate it, you know what I’m saying. What the f**k, aye. Someone break that curse. What’s happening? F**k the curse.”  Jake Paul sounds off on Nate Diaz for illegal chokehold during boxing match Jake Paul wasn’t happy about Nate Diaz putting him in a chokehold during their boxing match last weekend. ‘The Problem Child’ recently lambasted the former UFC star for his foul tactics.  During the final round, Diaz showed a glimpse of his MMA pedigree by applying a momentary guillotine choke on Paul. While the choke didn’t look serious, fans went into a frenzy to see the jiu-jitsu maestro showing off his moves in a boxing ring.  In a post-fight press conference, Nate Diaz clarified that the choke wasn’t tight and he didn’t squeeze Jake Paul’s neck. However, ‘The Problem Child’ had a different story to tell. Claiming that Diaz actually choked him, he said: “He f**king choked me! He was actually choking me. I was like, ‘This is crazy’. I didn’t think he was gonna stop but he had it in… That’s why I want to do it back in MMA… If it was it was MMA, I would have dropped to a double-leg, picked him up, and dropped him on his head.”

Henry Cejudo slams Cory Sandhagen’s “dud of a performance” at UFC Nashville

Henry Cejudo wasn’t impressed with Cory Sandhagen’s victory over Rob Font at UFC Nashville last weekend. The former two-division champion recently sounded off on ‘The Sandman’s wresting-heavy fighting style and dismissed Sandhagen’s chances at a title shot next.  While Sandhagen was initially slated to face Umar Nurmagomedov, the Dagestan native was forced to pull out due to injury. Font replaced Nurmagomedov on short notice. During the fight, ‘The Sandman’ adopted an aggressive grappling style and dominated Font on the ground. While many called the bout boring and un-dynamic, Sandhagen managed to bring out a unanimous decision win after five rounds.  Soon after getting his hand raised, Cory Sandhagen called for a bantamweight title fight against the winner of Aljamain Sterling vs. Sean O’Malley at UFC 292. However, Henry Cejudo doesn’t think the promotion will grant Sandhagen his wish.  ‘Triple C’ uploaded a video reacting to the fight on his YouTube channel and tweeted a clip of the same. He captioned the post: “Thank you, Cory Sandhagen. After that dud of a performance, it’s me vs @MerabDvalishvili for the next shot at that bantamweight strap.” In the video, Cejudo laughed at Cory Sandhagen and dismissed his calls for a title shot against the winner of Sterling vs. O’Malley. He said:  “Sandhagen, come on dude. You got to get the principles of this game, it’s me and Merab dude… It makes me forgive myself for Aljamain… If Sandhagen wants a title shot, this is not the way to go about it. It’s going to be me and Merab dude.”  Henry Cejudo on a potential Justin Gaethje vs. Conor McGregor fight Henry Cejudo wants Justin Gaethje to accept Conor McGregor’s callouts and secure a massive payday.  ‘The Highlight’ recently defeated Dustin Poirier at UFC 291 and took home the coveted BMF title. While many expected the fight to be a drawn-out slugfest, Gaethje unexpectedly secured a second-round knockout win. Soon after getting Gaethje got his hand raised, McGregor went off on the new BMF champion on Twitter. ‘The Notorious’ ruthlessly criticized ‘The Highlight’ and called for a fight against him.  While Justin Gaethje made it clear he wasn’t interested in fighting Conor McGregor, Henry Cejudo recently urged him to reconsider. ‘Triple C’ also predicted that Gaethje would make easy work of the Irishman.  In a video uploaded to his YouTube channel, Cejudo stated: “Justin Gaethje, you’ve got millions and millions of dollars on the line if you fight Conor McGregor… The belt will always be there and actually waiting for you… That being said, Justin, if I had to choose something, whether I want a UFC [belt] around my waist or about $10 million, guess what? I’m going for the $10 million… At 155 pounds, I can see you stopping Conor McGregor within the first two minutes.”
