WWE RAW

WWE Universe, brace yourselves! Monday Night Raw returns tonight, emanating from the FedEx Forum in Memphis, Tennessee. With WWE Payback just around the corner, the show is primed to set the stage ablaze. Here’s a look at some of the bouts that might just light up our screens. Becky Lynch vs. Zoey Stark: A Rivalry Rekindled It’s about dominance, a prelude to the impending cataclysm awaiting at WWE Payback. The Man Becky Lynch, already slated to face the legendary Trish Stratus in a daunting Steel Cage match this Saturday, has yet another hurdle to overcome. Zoey Stark, with whom Lynch shares a win-loss tally of 1-1, is back on her path. The Falls Count Anywhere stipulation will undoubtedly add a level of unpredictability and chaos. Last week’s Raw had both Stratus and Stark confronting Lynch, with Stark throwing down the gauntlet. Can Lynch gather momentum with a win tonight, or will Stark prove too formidable? Chad Gable vs. Ludwig Kaiser: Can History Repeat Itself? Chad Gable, still on a high after being the first to defeat Gunther on the main roster, prepares for another member of the menacing Imperium – Ludwig Kaiser. Their previous encounter on August 14 saw Gable taking the victory, but wrestling history is littered with tales of the tables turning in a rematch. Kaiser, representing the powerful faction, will certainly look to avenge his prior defeat and perhaps, send a clear message to Gable. But, given Gable’s recent streak, will he be able to pull off another win? Tommaso Ciampa vs. Bronson Reed: Settling Old Scores The lingering animosity between Tommaso Ciampa and Bronson Reed reaches its boiling point tonight. Their feud, which began back in July, saw The Miz scoring a victory over Ciampa, thanks in no small part to Reed’s interference. The bad blood between Ciampa and Reed is undeniable, and tonight, the squared circle will become their battleground. With both Superstars holding their own grudges and aims, it’s a bout that promises brutality and intensity. Will Ciampa find redemption, or will Reed’s intervention prove too much to overcome once more? New Day vs. Viking Raider: A Promise to be Fulfilled The charismatic duo of Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods, collectively known as New Day, have thrown down the gauntlet. Their recent victory over Glass-Bros (Drew McIntyre & Matt Riddle) was marred by the Viking Raiders’ interference. However, New Day isn’t one to let such actions go unchecked. Vowing retribution, Kingston & Woods promised McIntyre & Riddle that they’d settle scores with the Viking Raiders this Monday. The tag team division is one of the most unpredictable in WWE, and when two top-tier teams like New Day and Viking Raiders collide, sparks are bound to fly. The media scrum was an intense affair, with loads of shoving, cake-throwing, and name-calling. However, in the middle of it all, the SIDEMEN star made a major revelation that made Paul’s ears prick. KSI confirmed that his bout against Tommy Fury will be a six-round contest.  Given the rivalry between Jake Paul and KSI, it was unsurprising to see ‘The Problem Child’  laughing at this news. Notably, Paul went up against former UFC star Nate Diaz in a 10-round professional boxing match not too long ago.  Jake Paul recently took to Twitter and expressed his amusement at the KSI vs. Tommy Fury fight. KSI vs. Tommy Fury Doesn’t Have Rehydration Clause

There is an interesting stipulation in the highly anticipated KSI vs. Tommy Fury boxing match. The event will go down on October 14 at the Misfits X DAZN: The Prime Card event. The pay-per-view event will take place at the AO Arena in Manchester, England. After his last fight against Joe Fournier, KSI shared an intense face-off with Tommy Fury, who was fresh off a split-decision victory over Jake Paul. Soon after, both parties began the negotiation process for their fight.  Initially, the British YouTuber revealed that all parties had agreed to a 180-pound weight limit with no rehydration clause. However, Fury was unhappy and called for the fight to be contested at 185 pounds. Given that KSI fought Fournier at 177 pounds, making 185 pounds would be an uphill battle for him.  However, at their recent pre-fight press conference, it was revealed that the KSI vs. Tommy Fury boxing match would be a six-round affair at 183 pounds. There would also be no rehydration clause. This means that both fighters would be allowed to rehydrate after their weigh-ins without an upper weight limit. Given that Tommy Fury is noticeably larger than KSI, many speculated that it would prove to be an advantage for the younger Fury sibling. Nevertheless, it remains to be seen who emerges victorious on October 14.  Derek Chisora makes bold prediction for KSI vs. Tommy Fury boxing match Derek Chisora recently shared his opinions on the highly anticipated KSI vs. Tommy Fury boxing match. The two-time WBC heavyweight title challenger believes that the popular British YouTuber will get his hand raised via knockout.  As mentioned, KSI and Fury will meet in the boxing ring on October 14 at the Misfits X DAZN: The Prime Card event in Manchester, England. Given the long-running rivalry between them, fans look forward to seeing them settle their differences in the squared circle. Given Tommy Fury’s boxing pedigree, many believe ‘TNT’ will have the edge going into this bout. Paired with the fact that ‘TNT’ is training closely with his elder half-brother Tyson Fury, the consensus may be right. However, ‘Del Boy’ begs to differ.  In a recent interview with talkSPORT, Derek Chisora broke down the KSI vs. Tommy Fury fight and stated: “It’s not like he’s in and out of the gym, no, no. He wants to win this fight. On top of that, JJ doesn’t have yes men around him… It’s going to be a good fight… This fight, I see a knockout, and I see the knockout coming for my friend JJ… He’s got more power in both hands than before.”  Also Read: https://combatsports247.com/logan-pauls-next-fight-date-confirmed-with-dillon-danis/

Israel Adesanya Reacts To Sean Strickland’s Sparring Session With Alex Pereira, Writes ‘You Never Go Full’

Israel Adesanya recently reacted to Sean Strickland’s recent sparring session with Alex Pereira. ‘The Last Stylebender’ was surprisingly impressed by ‘Tarzan’s patient demeanor and praised him for not going all out against the former UFC middleweight champion.  Adesanya is set to face Strickland in a highly anticipated title fight at UFC 293 on September 9 in Sydney. The contest will also mark Adesanya’s first title defense since regaining the championship from Pereira in their rematch at UFC 287.  Israel Adesanya was initially expected to face Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 293. Unfortunately, the South African fighter was forced to pull out due to an injury. The reigning middleweight champion called out Sean Strickland soon after Du Plessis’ withdrawal was made official. In a recent tweet, Israel Adesanya reacted to Sean Strickland sparring with his longtime combat sports nemesis Alex Pereira. Referencing the outcome of Strickland vs. Pereira at UFC 276, Adesanya wrote: “This was actually really nice to watch. It’s a different feel when you know what’ll happen if you went full Strickland. You never go full Strickland.”  Israel Adesanya Promises To Expose Sean Strickland At UFC 293  Israel Adesanya is looking forward to settling his differences with Sean Strickland in the octagon at UFC 293. The reigning middleweight champion recently vowed to expose ‘Tarzan’ when they come face to face next month.  As mentioned, there is no love lost between Adesanya and Strickland. The two have exchanged viciously personal jabs over the past few years and waste no opportunity to taunt each other on social media. Their infamous exchange at the UFC 276 pre-fight presser in July 2022 seemingly laid the foundation for this title fight to materialize.  Given Strickland’s reputation as one of UFC’s most brashly outspoken fighters, Adesanya is looking to reveal his opponent’s true self.  In a recent same interview with Mike Bohn for MMA Junkie, Israel Adesanya claimed Sean Strickland’s trash-talking is an act. Predicting a knockout victory over the No.5-ranked middleweight contender, he stated: “Behind the scenes, he’s soft… I kind of want to show people what happens backstage, I want to show them on the main stage that he’s my b*tch… I’m on a warpath, and I’m going to end this man. He’s getting knocked out.  Watch the full interview below: Also Read: https://combatsports247.com/israel-adesanya-claims-khamzat-chimaev-can-leapfrog-dricus-du-plessis-with-a-win-at-ufc-294/

Max Holloway Praises TKZ After Fight Night 225; Calls Him ‘Legend’

Max Holloway has nothing but good things to say about  Chan Sung Jung, also known as ’The Korean Zombie’ (TKZ). Last weekend, the two featherweights faced off at UFC Fight Night 225 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Singapore. After two exciting rounds, where both men traded haymakers, ‘Blessed’ secured a third-round knockout victory to retire the legendary South Korean fighter. In the aftermath of their fight, TKZ laid his gloves down in the middle of the octagon and announced his retirement in front of a crowd of cheering fans.  In a post-fight press conference, Max Holloway was full of praise for ‘The Korean Zombie.’ Expressing his awe at the South Korean fighter’s tank-like durability, the former featherweight champion stated: “Legend, legend. The dude is a zombie. I hit him in the second and thought I had him out, but he kept coming back… He’s just a legend… He never wanted to die on his shield, he always dies on his sword. That’s why people love ‘The Korean Zombie.’ It was an honor to be his last fight. I know it didn’t go the way that he wanted or his fans wanted, but that’s what he wanted to do. He wanted to fight me. He wanted to do that, and that’s how you know the man is a legend.” Catch Holloway’s comments below: Also Read: https://combatsports247.com/khabib-nurmagomedov-discusses-the-possibility-of-his-children-following-in-his-footsteps-and-his-sons-training-regime/ Max Holloway Reacts To TKZ Surviving Anaconda Choke  Max Holloway and ‘The Korean Zombie’ put on a fight for the ages this past weekend. Both men lived up to their reputations and put on an enthralling striking display that saw them exchange blows for the majority of the fight.  After going back and forth in the first round, Holloway switched to a higher gear in the second screen. Despite catching some powerful shots from TKZ, the Hawaii native was able to recover quickly and return the favor. During a sequence in the second round, Max Holloway dropped TKZ with a hard right and followed up with a vice-like anaconda choke. During the submission attempt, Max Holloway was seen calling the referee to check on TKZ. While many thought the South Korean had gone unconscious, Chan Sung Jung lived up to his moniker and got up. In the third round, Holloway displayed his one-punch knockout power and finished his opponent in spectacular fashion.  In the same post-fight press conference, ‘Blessed’ was asked to comment on the moment he thought TKZ lost consciousness. Sharing his hilarious reaction, Holloway said: “The ‘Zombie’ is a zombie bro! I swear I saw him stop breathing! I was telling Marc [Goddard], ‘Bro, he’s out!’ And then [Jung] would start wiggling his fingers, like, what is he made out of? The dude is built different… He was not breathing, breathing, gargling, every single sound that someone getting choke [makes], you could hear it, and he was doing it.”

Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler: ‘The Notorious’ Teases Comeback Fight Against ‘Iron’ At UFC 296

Conor McGregor recently dropped a major hint for his highly anticipated return to action this year. McGregor has been on the sidelines since his ill-fated fight against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021. The Irishman suffered a nasty leg fracture during the fight and was forced to undergo extensive surgery and physical rehabilitation. However, after over two years away from the octagon, the former two-division champion seems ready to return.  Earlier this year, Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler were roped in as coaches on The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) season 31. After the show concluded, the two explosive strikers were expected to face off in the octagon. However, McGregor’s reluctance to fulfill USADA’s drug-testing requirements has proven to be a significant hurdle to that matchup.  However, ‘The Notorious’ recently took to Twitter to share a screenshot from the UFC Fight Pass website, showing that he’s booked to headline UFC 296 on December 16 against Chandler. While the page doesn’t appear on the webpage, McGregor wasted no time sending his fans into a frenzy in anticipation of his return.  The UFC hasn’t made any official statement regarding McGregor’s tweet so far. Given the Irishman’s difficult situation with the USADA, fans will likely have to wait longer for an official announcement from the promotion.   Also Read: https://combatsports247.com/conor-mcgregor-issues-warning-to-michael-chandler-seemingly-confirming-his-return-to-the-octagon-against-iron/ Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler: ‘Iron’ Opens Up About Welcoming ‘The Notorious’ Back To Action Michael Chandler recently discussed his highly anticipated matchup against Conor McGregor. As mentioned, McGregor has been away from the octagon for more than two years due to injury. Earlier this year, the Irishman returned to the spotlight as a coach on TUF 31. After the conclusion of the show, many were eager to know when they would clash in the cage.  However, McGregor seemed to lose interest in ‘Iron’ as his comeback opponent and called for fights against Justin Gaethje, Charles Oliveira, Nate Diaz, and Floyd Mayweather. While many wondered if Chandler was off McGregor’s hit list, the former Bellator lightweight champion recently cleared the air and assured fans they’d see him fight the Irishman.  At a UFC 292 press conference, ‘Iron’ expressed his optimism about being the one to welcome Conor McGregor back. He said: “I can fight him tomorrow… I think every single day, everything changes with time and circumstance… And I haven’t really thought about a deadline. I’ve got a loose deadline in my head that I’m not going to share with you, but we’ll flirt with that whenever we figure it out.” Watch the full video below:
