All 5 Confirmed Matches For WWE Survivor Series 2023

12 months ago By Sports Desk

WWE Survivor Series 2023 is set to be one of the biggest events of the year. Survivor Series has been a staple pay-per-view for WWE since 1987, known for its iconic elimination tag team matches. This year’s show promises to deliver thrilling matchups and shocking moments. Survivor Series 2023 will take place on Saturday, November 25th at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois. As the road to Survivor Series heats up, the card is starting to take shape with some huge matches already confirmed.

The first match confirmed for this year’s Survivor Series is a clash between Intercontinental Champion Gunther and former champion The Miz for the prestigious title. Gunther has held the Intercontinental Championship for over 500 days, establishing himself as a dominant force on the Smackdown brand. The Ring General prides himself on restoring honor and prestige to the Intercontinental title through his hard-hitting, old-school wrestling style.

Gunther’s title reign was threatened on a recent edition of Monday Night Raw when he got into a confrontation with The Miz on “Miz TV.” The Miz disparaged Gunther’s character and reign as champion, which led to The Ring General retaliating and humiliating The Awesome One in response. The following week, The Miz earned himself a title shot against Gunther’s Intercontinental Championship by winning a Fatal 4-Way match against Ivar, Ricochet and Bronson Reed.

The Miz is one of the most decorated Intercontinental Champions in WWE history with eight reigns under his belt so far. He sits one title run away from tying the all-time record of nine held by Pedro Morales. Between The Miz’s 592 total days as champion and Gunther’s current reign of 531 days, this match features two of the longest-tenured Intercontinental title holders ever going head to head.

When these two larger-than-life characters collide at Survivor Series, fans can expect an intense fight over the coveted Intercontinental Championship. Will Gunther’s brute force enable him to overpower The Miz and retain his title? Or will The Awesome One’s veteran instinct and cunning give him the edge needed to become a record-tying nine-time champion? The result of this match could shape the future of the Intercontinental title in WWE for months or even years to come.

The next match set for Survivor Series will be a monumental WarGames collision between two factions – The Judgment Day and the team of Seth Rollins, Cody Rhodes, Jey Uso and Sami Zayn.

This WarGames bout was made official after a chaotic scene on Raw. Following Seth Rollins’ world title defense against Sami Zayn, The Judgment Day hit the ring and attacked the exhausted opponents. Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso ran down to even the odds. Raw GM Adam Pearce later announced that if they want to fight so badly, they’ll do it WarGames style at Survivor Series.

On one side, representing The Judgment Day will be NXT North American Champion Dominik Mysterio, tag champs Finn Balor and Damian Priest, and upstart JD McDonagh. Across from them in the double cage will be Rollins, Rhodes, Uso and Zayn.

For Zayn and Jey Uso, this marks their second straight year competing in a WarGames match after teaming with The Bloodline in 2022. Now they find themselves united with bitter rivals in Rollins and Rhodes against the chaotic faction of The Judgment Day.

With so much animosity and pride on the line, this WarGames bout promises to be absolute mayhem. Both teams want to prove their dominance and will go to extremes to get the win. Fans can expect carnage when these bitter enemies are locked inside two cages with no escape. In the end, either The Judgment Day will affirm their supremacy or Rollins and company will score sweet retribution.

The women’s division will also get in on the WarGames action at Survivor Series, with Damage CTRL set to battle the team of Bianca Belair, Charlotte Flair, Shotzi and the newly announced fourth member – Becky Lynch.

This match was put in motion on SmackDown when Damage CTRL’s Bayley inducted Asuka into the group and challenged Belair, Flair and Shotzi to find a fourth partner for a WarGames collision. Throughout the show, Belair and Flair attempted to recruit other women to join their squad but were thwarted by sneak attacks from Damage CTRL each time.

With the clock ticking down, Flair called on an old rival that she’s had a turbulent relationship with – Becky Lynch. Though there was uncertainty about how Lynch would appear, she shocked everyone when she came through the crowd to help Belair, Flair and Shotzi fend off a Damage CTRL beatdown as SmackDown went off the air.

Now it will be the established team of Asuka, Bayley, IYO SKY and Kairi Sane representing Damage CTRL against the newly formed alliance of Lynch, Belair, Flair and Shotzi. There is plenty of history among these eight women that will surely explode inside the WarGames double cage.

For Becky Lynch, this is a chance to re-establish herself after missing significant time due to injury and starting a family. Teaming with former rivals like Belair and Flair shows she is willing to put aside any grudges for the greater good. Belair and Flair also seem united, looking to take out the growing threat of Damage CTRL.

Meanwhile, Damage CTRL wants to prove its dominance as a faction by decimating two of WWE’s top stars Flair and Lynch. With Bayley’s leadership, they have become one of the most dominant forces in WWE. Now they look to make an example out of their enemies inside WarGames.

The animosity is high and the stakes are even higher for both teams. When these bitter rivals collide inside two steel cages, expect carnage as they battle for supremacy. In the end, either Damage CTRL will show why they are the dominant force in women’s wrestling or Flair, Lynch, Belair and Shotzi will score a career-defining win. The only guarantee is that this WarGames Match will be utter chaos.

The final match confirmed for the Survivor Series card will see tensions boil over within the Latino World Order as Carlito battles Santos Escobar one-on-one. Escobar shocked the WWE Universe when he viciously attacked his mentor Rey Mysterio and turned his back on the LWO faction. In a scathing promo, Escobar explained he was jealous of Mysterio’s success as United States Champion and leader of the LWO. He felt he deserved those opportunities instead.

After being confronted by other LWO members, including Carlito, Escobar was challenged to settle their beef in the ring at Survivor Series. Carlito took particular offense to Escobar’s actions against his cousin Rey Mysterio. Now these two proud Latin American Superstars will collide for the first time ever on the grand stage of Survivor Series.

Escobar’s betrayal cut deep into the heart of the LWO. By defeating Carlito, he hopes to destroy the group that he feels holds him back. Meanwhile, Carlito is seeking retribution for his family and the honor of the LWO by taking down the treacherous Escobar.

With tensions at a boiling point, this match is sure to be an intense fight between two Superstars out for vengeance. Will Escobar succeed in his mission to ruin the LWO? Or will Carlito defeat the uprising and restore dignity to his family’s faction? The WWE Universe will find out when these bitter rivals clash at Survivor Series.
