In the aftermath of a tumultuous RAW, Cody Rhodes, also known as The American Nightmare, found his path to Crown Jewel 2023, setting the stage for what promises to be a thrilling encounter. Rhodes, who had recently suffered a setback after losing the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship alongside Jey Uso to the formidable duo of Finn Balor and Damian Priest, was not one to back down from a challenge. In a confrontation with The Judgment Day just a week later, Rhodes made his intentions clear, calling out Priest and setting the tone for their upcoming battle at Crown Jewel. However, things took a turn for the worse as JD McDonagh joined forces with Balor and Priest, launching a brutal assault on Rhodes and targeting his ankle with a vicious chair shot. Despite the odds, Rhodes displayed unrelenting spirit, returning later in the night to come to the aid of Jey Uso and taking the fight to Balor and Priest.
