Why WWE’s Brock Anderson will never be a “body guy”

2 years ago By Sports Desk

Since joining the AEW roster in 2021 as a member of The Nightmare Family, Brock Anderson has had the opportunity to share the ring with notable names such as Adam Cole, Malakai Black, and FTR. Being the son of Arn Anderson undoubtedly grants him access to exclusive insights and teachings that other wrestlers may not have.

Brock’s father, Arn Anderson, is a WWE Hall of Famer and former AEW Champion. Arn is renowned for giving the younger wrestlers invaluable wisdom and knowledge. However, his son, Brock Anderson, has received the most significant lessons from his father. At the age of 26, Brock is determined to carve out his path in the wrestling industry, away from the shadow of his accomplished father.

Arn Anderson says Brock doesn’t have the genes to be a “body guy.”

During an episode of his podcast, aptly titled “ARN,” the legendary Enforcer revealed the most crucial lesson he has imparted to his son. According to Arn Anderson, it is of utmost importance for wrestlers to learn how to work effectively. He emphasizes that this is the essence of the wrestling business – the ability to evoke genuine emotions and make audiences feel something when watching a match.

Furthermore, Arn acknowledges that his son may not possess the genetic attributes to be a traditional “body guy” in the industry. However, he commends Brock’s appearance and performance, noting that he has been performing admirably despite his limited number of matches. The Enforcer emphasizes that the primary lesson he instills in his son is respect for everyone in the wrestling business. Arn reminds Brock of the significant contributions made by those who came before him, individuals who played an integral role in sustaining the wrestling industry.

Recently, Brock Anderson has been forming a tag team partnership with another second-generation wrestler, Brian Pillman Jr. Although their exposure on television has been limited due to the closure of “AEW Dark,” the duo had the opportunity to showcase their skills on an AEW House Rules show, albeit falling short against The Gunns.

Arn Anderson’s guidance and mentorship undoubtedly give Brock Anderson a unique perspective and a strong foundation as he continues developing his career in AEW.
