Ric Flair Makes His Debut At AEW Dynamite, Joins Sting On Show

1 years ago By Sports Desk

In a stunning turn of events that shook the wrestling world, Ric Flair, the 16-time World Champion and two-time WWE Hall of Famer, made his debut at AEW Dynamite in Philadelphia, joining forces with the legendary Sting on the show. This unexpected appearance came just a week after Sting announced his retirement from professional wrestling, marking a historic moment in the world of sports entertainment.

The anticipation had been building since the October 18th edition of AEW Dynamite when Sting revealed his plans to retire at the AEW Revolution pay-per-view in March 2024, exactly three years after his debut match with the company. The wrestling community was abuzz with excitement, curious about what the AEW Owner, CEO & GM Tony Khan’s “historic gift” for Sting could be.

As the fans eagerly awaited the big reveal, Sting stood in the ring, flanked by his close friend Darby Allin and the iconic announcer Tony Schiavone. The Stinger took the opportunity to express his gratitude towards Allin, praising him as the best tag team partner he has ever had. With the crowd hanging on to every word, Schiavone called for the surprise to be unveiled, leading to Ric Flair’s triumphant entrance.

The crowd erupted into cheers as Flair made his way to the ring, embracing Sting in a heartfelt moment that celebrated their long and storied history in the wrestling business. The two legends have shared the ring numerous times, creating memorable matches that have stood the test of time, including their legendary Clash of the Champions match from 1988.

Flair took the mic, delivering an impassioned promo that highlighted not only Sting’s incredible career but also the person he is outside of the ring. He reminisced about their historic match on TBS 35 years ago, praising Sting’s endurance and skill in the ring. Flair went on to express his gratitude for being invited to be a part of this momentous occasion, indicating that he would be supporting Sting throughout his final run in the wrestling world.

However, the reunion was not without its lighter moments, as Flair playfully laid in a classic chop on Sting, reminiscent of their epic battles from years past. The crowd roared in approval, celebrating the playful interaction between the two legends.

But the festivities were cut short when TNT Champion Christian Cage, accompanied by Luchasaurus & Nick Wayne, interrupted the moment with a scathing promo. The fans quickly turned on Cage, expressing their disapproval with a chorus of boos and explicit chants. Unfazed, Cage issued a challenge for the AEW Full Gear PPV on November 18th, proposing a six-man tag team match.

Sting, never one to back down from a challenge, accepted on the spot, setting the stage for an epic showdown at Full Gear. Later in the show, Sting and Allin sought out Adam Copeland as their potential partner, but he declined, stating that he did not want to fight against his best friend Christian.

As for Ric Flair, his future appearances on AEW TV remain uncertain, but it is clear that he will be around to support his friend Sting as he embarks on the final chapter of his illustrious career. This unexpected reunion has left the wrestling world buzzing, as fans and fellow wrestlers alike celebrate the coming together of two of the industry’s biggest legends. Whether in the ring or by his friend’s side, Flair’s presence in AEW is sure to add an extra layer of excitement and nostalgia to Sting’s farewell tour, creating moments that will be remembered for years to come.
