Hulk Hogan Speaks About Potentially To Have A Match With John Cena At The Major Event

1 years ago By Sports Desk

A WWE living legend, Hulk Hogan has thrilled fans for decades with his charisma. Despite officially retiring from in-ring competition years ago, Hogan has excited the wrestling world with the exciting prospect of one last match. Recently, the wrestling icon addressed the long-standing speculation surrounding a potential comeback bout, and it involves none other than John Cena.

The Mythical Comeback

Hulk Hogan’s last official match took place during TNA/IMPACT’s Maximum IMPACT tour of England in January 2012, and has been a subject of perpetual speculation about a return to the squared circle. His career has seen numerous ups and downs, and fans have never ceased to wonder whether they might witness Hogan grace the ring one final time.

In a recent interview, Hogan addressed these persistent rumors, definitively putting them to rest. He acknowledged his personal desire to partake in a last match but, regrettably, declared that it was now an unattainable dream due to the toll that years of surgeries and injuries had taken on his body.

I would have loved to have had that last match,” Hogan admitted. “But now it’s completely out of the picture. You know, I’m just too beat up from the surgeries. I think if I took a couple of bumps, you probably have to cut me up again. But no, I really wanted to have that last match.”

The Road Not Taken

While Hogan expressed his desire for one final showdown, he remained undecided about his ideal opponent. He talked about the possibility of a match at WrestleMania 25 in Orlando but did not specify an opponent. However, one tantalizing prospect that captured the wrestling world’s imagination was a clash with the iconic John Cena.

Hogan revealed that discussions had taken place about a marquee match against Cena, a dream bout that immediately garnered significant attention from fans and experts. He was genuinely eager to make it happen. Hogan even shared that he and WWE Chairman Vince McMahon were in close contact, collaborating on the prospective plans.

“Vince had me all hooked up with Cena, and I said I’d do it,” Hogan recounted. “And Vince and I were talking every week, and we were putting the plans together, you know, like the old days where I was in the office every day, he and I were talking every day.”

Fate Intervenes

As the wrestling world braced itself for a potential Hogan vs. Cena showdown, fate intervened in a most unfortunate manner. Hogan’s back, which had endured multiple surgeries already, chose the most inopportune moment to act up.

And all of a sudden, I’m on the phone with Vince, I was like, ‘Oh my God. Oh, my back went out,’ when I was talking to Vince on the phone,” Hogan explained. “I just had back surgery number three or four at that time, and I had to go right in immediately and get cut up. So that was it for that, but I thought that was going to be my last match, and then, you know, but that never happened, and then it just kind of like faded away.”

So, it appears that Hulk Hogan’s wrestling boots may have been hung up for good. While the dream of a final match against the likes of John Cena seemed within reach, the stark reality of his physical condition took precedence, dashing the hopes of fans worldwide for one more iconic bout in the squared circle.

The End of an Era

The decision of Hogan to officially retire from in-ring competition marks the end of an era. The wrestling world has been forever shaped by the presence and charisma of this larger-than-life figure. From his historic victories to his memorable promos, Hogan’s legacy is firmly etched in the annals of sports entertainment.

While fans may be disappointed that they won’t witness the dream match between Hogan and Cena, it’s essential to remember that the wrestling legend’s health and well-being should always come first. The toll that a wrestling career takes on the body is immeasurable, and Hogan’s decision to prioritize his health is undoubtedly a wise one.

As we bid farewell to the tantalizing prospect of Hogan’s last match, we must also celebrate the indelible impact he has had on the world of professional wrestling. From the packed arenas to the electric atmosphere, Hogan’s presence defined an era and brought joy to countless fans.

Hogan’s Legacy Lives On

Although Hogan may never step into the ring again, his legacy lives on. The memories of his epic battles, his iconic “Hulkamania” catchphrase, and his unmatched charisma continue to resonate with wrestling enthusiasts of all generations. Hulk Hogan’s influence extends far beyond the confines of the squared circle; he’s a pop culture icon whose name will forever be synonymous with professional wrestling.

While the dream of a Hulk Hogan vs. John Cena match may remain unfulfilled, wrestling fans can take solace in the fact that they witnessed the legendary career of one of the greatest wrestlers of all time. Hogan’s legacy is firmly cemented, and his impact on the world of sports entertainment is immeasurable.
