Footage Shows Matt Riddle Was Drunk During Airport Incident

Many fans weren’t surprised when WWE recently let go of Matt Riddle, as his career had its ups and downs. His journey seemed promising, but it often hit roadblocks due to issues outside the wrestling ring.

Some of these issues included serious allegations of sexual assault made against him by indie wrestler Candy Cartwright in 2020 and multiple violations of WWE’s wellness policy.

WWE released Matt Riddle on September 22nd, marking the end of this chapter in his wrestling career. The decision to release him was primarily due to his repeated mistakes and poor judgment.

One notable incident occurred at JFK International Airport on September 9th, shortly after WWE’s tour in India for the 2023 Superstar Spectacle event. Reports emerged that Riddle claimed to have been sexually assaulted by a police officer at JFK Airport in New York City. Later, it was revealed that police encountered Riddle because he was behaving disruptively and disorderly.

Riddle initially posted an Instagram accusing a Port Authority Police Officer of misconduct but later deleted it. This led to investigations by both the Port Authority Police Department and WWE.

Reports suggested that Riddle was heavily intoxicated and disruptive during the airport incident. However, he was not detained or charged, and he did not file a formal complaint. This incident likely played a role in his release from WWE.

One witness described Riddle’s behavior during a flight delay as obnoxious and loud. Riddle was denied permission to board the plane, and the police were called to intervene. Despite the incident, Riddle was allowed to leave without further consequences.

In addition to these incidents, Riddle faced backlash from WWE management for going off-script during a promo in which he praised his former tag team partner, Randy Orton.

TMZ posted a video from the airport incident, showing Riddle visibly drunk and behaving disruptively. Witnesses described his behavior as extremely rude and loud, which led to his flight denial and police involvement.

Despite the setbacks, Matt Riddle had a successful run in WWE, particularly as part of the RK-Bro tag team with Randy Orton. However, his time with WWE has come to an end, leaving fans to wonder about his future in the wrestling world.
