WWE’s Streaming Right Soon To End With Hulu, Confirms Platform

1 years ago By Sports Desk

The WWE content on Hulu is about to end. If you’re a fan who enjoys watching WWE on Hulu, you might have noticed that some shows have an expiration date set for either September 25th or 26th.

Recently, WWE made an important announcement about its programming. They revealed a new rights agreement for WWE SmackDown, stating that it would be moving from FOX to the USA Network starting in October 2024. However, the new destinations for Monday Night Raw and NXT have not been disclosed yet.

Ordinarily, this news might not concern those who watch WWE shows on Hulu the day after they air. But it seems that this arrangement is also coming to an end. A fan took to Twitter to share their discovery of WWE content showing an expiration date on Hulu. They were unsure if it was a glitch or if the content was genuinely expiring.

When the fan asked about this expiration tag on social media, Hulu Support responded, saying, “Hello from Hulu! Our streaming rights for WWE content are currently set to expire. However, we’ll certainly convey your desire to keep them in our library to our team. For now, we recommend adding the shows to your ‘My Stuff’ to receive notifications about any updates.”

Hulu Support further confirmed that the WWE content is indeed set to expire. So, those who enjoy watching Raw, SmackDown, NXT, or Main Event on Hulu might soon have to find an alternative way to access this content, unless an extension is negotiated.

Hulu currently airs WWE Main Event and provides next-day access to WWE Raw, WWE SmackDown, and WWE NXT. Whether WWE will extend this deal or transfer the next-day service to another platform remains uncertain. Some companies, like Amazon, are potential candidates for hosting these shows on a next-day basis, given their infrastructure.

Despite these changes, it’s worth noting that WWE’s Bianca Belair and Montez Ford’s reality show is still moving forward on Hulu. This means that WWE and Hulu will continue to collaborate on certain projects. In a previous conversation, Belair expressed excitement and some nerves about the show, emphasizing that viewers would get to see the real personalities of WWE performers outside the ring.

So, while the fate of WWE content on Hulu is uncertain, there will still be some WWE-related programming available on the platform. Are you hoping for WWE to extend its deal with Hulu? Share your thoughts in the comments.
