Eddie Hearn Shares Insane Prediction On Anthony Joshua vs. Tyson Fury And More
Eddie Hearn is willing to bet the house on Anthony Joshua beating Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder before he retires. The Matchroom Boxing CEO recently discussed Joshua’s career and claimed that his star client is just a few fights away from calling it a career. However, before ‘AJ’ hangs up his gloves, Hearn is certain he’ll beat the two top-ranked heavyweights as an underdog.
The veteran boxing promoter has handled Anthony Joshua’s business since his professional debut in 2013. Given their longstanding relationship, it’s unsurprising to see the promoter express his unfailing support for his client. The 44-year-old Englishman also predicted ‘AJ’ becoming the first undisputed heavyweight champion in the four-belt era.
It is important to note that three of those four belts are currently held by Oleksandr Usyk, who has defeated Anthony Joshua twice already. While a third Joshua vs. Usyk bout is possible, the English pugilist is linked to a blockbuster fight against Wilder.
During a recent chat with talkSPORT, Eddie Hearn revealed that Anthony Joshua wants to fight Fury and Wilder. He also claimed that if ‘AJ’ retired without facing those two, he’d be unhappy and unsatisfied with his professional record. Hearn emotionally claimed that he didn’t care if people called him “delusional” for believing Joshua would knock out Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder before “sailing off into the sunset.”
As of now, Eddie Hearn is trying to book the Anthony Joshua vs. Deontay Wilder bout before the year ends. However, if that fight falls through, it may be temporarily canned for an interim bout.
Meanwhile, Tyson Fury is booked to face Francis Ngannou in a non-title bout on October 28 in Saudi Arabia. Fans hope ‘The Gypsy King’ will face Oleksandr Usyk in an undisputed bout next. However, it’s possible the WBC would order Fury to face Joshua or Wilder as the two top-ranked heavyweights.
