Mike Tyson Warns Fans Not To Underestimate Francis Ngannou Against Tyson Fury
Mike Tyson is confident about Francis Ngannou holding his own in a boxing match against WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury. The legendary boxer recently weighed in on the upcoming Ngannou vs. Fury boxing match and claimed fans are underestimating the former UFC heavyweight champion.
Ngannou is set to make his boxing debut against Fury on October 28 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The two hard-hitting heavyweights will reportedly go head to head for ten rounds.
Given Fury’s incredible resume and status as the WBC heavyweight champion, many have dismissed the Cameroonian’s chances and believe the fight to be a massive cash-grab opportunity for Ngannou. However, Tyson has a different opinion.
In a recent episode of Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson, the legendary pugilist sat down with Francis Ngannou for a chat. During their conversation, Tyson claimed that many are misjudging the Ngannou and stated:
“This is what you have to look [at] when you think about him [Francis Ngannou] fighting Tyson Fury, Conor McGregor went 11 rounds or 10 rounds with Floyd Mayweather, the greatest fighter of his generation, if not all-time. If that can happen, why can’t he give Tyson a capable fight?”
Tyson continued:
“We worked out yesterday, and I saw a lot of good qualities. He pretty much just needs to shake off some of the cobwebs, and then it’s full speed ahead. You learn pretty quick, too, which I was really impressed with.”

Francis Ngannou On The Benefits Of Having Mike Tyson As Boxing Trainer
Francis Ngannou believes training with Mike Tyson could be the key to emerging victorious against Tyson Fury. Soon after the Ngannou vs. Fury boxing match was announced, it was revealed that the former UFC heavyweight champion had roped in ‘Iron Mike’ to help him train.
As mentioned, ‘The Gypsy King’ is an overwhelming betting favorite against Ngannou. The WBC heavyweight champion has a perfect 33-0 record with one draw in his career. Fury is also on an incredible 6-fight win streak, which includes two knockout victories against Deontay Wilder.
Nevertheless, Francis Ngannou is confident of pulling off an upset on October 28. In the same episode of Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson, ‘The Predator’ explained why training with ‘Iron Mike’ was beneficial and stated:
“If I land a bomb on Tyson Fury, I think the lights turn off for him. But now the problem is how to sharpen the weapon properly to land that bomb, because it’s good to have a bomb, but the great Teddy Atlas always says: Delivery system…That’s something that’s always stuck in my mind… How to have a good delivery system to aim and shoot [is more important], and that’s why Mike Tyson is here.”
