Ric Flair once went into “cannabis coma” while partying with Mike Tyson
WWE Hall of Famer and “The Dirtiest Player in the Game, has ventured into various business ventures post-retirement, one of them being his cannabis line named “Ric Flair Drip,” under the umbrella of Mike Tyson’s “Tyson 2.0” brand.
Flair and Mike Tyson are partners in this cannabis endeavor, and they occasionally indulge in their merchandise together. Flair recently appeared on the “This Past Weekend” podcast with Theo Von, where he opened up about a memorable experience of getting high with Tyson in The Hamptons.
Ric Flair details cannabis coma that he felt while smoking with Mike Tyson
In this candid conversation, the 74-year-old WWE Hall of Famer likened the experience to a state resembling a medically-induced coma he had encountered during an emergency situation back in 2017.
He humorously referred to the episode as a “cannabis coma,” describing, “It’s called a cannabis coma, right? I mean, I actually thought I died.” Flair explained how he felt as if he were speaking to people but not receiving responses, likening it to a “delayed process.”
In his recollection, Flair continued, “And I was like on the delay process, right? Yeah. And I said to myself, ‘Did I die? Have I just died, because I feel like I did when I was in my coma, but I can think.’ I don’t think I could think when I was in my coma. I mean, that’s the way I was talking to myself.”
Flair humorously recounted that it was around 3 a.m. when he finally sat up in bed, akin to Linda Blair’s character in “The Exorcist,” and declared, “I’m alive.” Amidst the humorous anecdotes, Flair admitted that he was so “screwed up” during the experience that he even questioned the reality of the people around him, wondering if they were real.
He attributed the intensity of the experience to a desire to match Tyson’s level, noting, “Well, I just haven’t done enough. I practice up every time I knew I’m going to see Mike. I’m about a three or four hit guy. But I just said, ‘I’m going to smoke as much as you right now, brother.'”
There is little doubt that Flair is one of the most remembered personalities the WWE ever saw. His humorous account of getting “cannabis high” with partner Mike Tyson adds yet another colorful chapter to his storied career.
