5 Superstars Who May Retire By The End Of 2023
When a new Superstar comes on to the scene, that Superstar is met with immense fanfare and support as they look to topple one and all and make their way to the top of the ladder. But when it’s time, that very superstar has to climb down the very ladder of success, and has to pay their dues to the business. So whether we like it or not, here are five superstars who might retire by the end of 2023:
Randy Orton
If someone has business in their blood, it’s the apex predator. The Legend Killer once famously said he remembers when he was the youngest member of Evolution and how today, guys in beards come up to him and say they hated him when they were kids. Many championships and several injuries later, it might be time for the Legend Killer to call it a day in 2023. In May last year, the Viper suffered a spine injury and has been enjoying his family life ever since. With the list of accolades and his contributions to the business, it would be hard for anyone to get over the departure of the 14 -Time WWE champion . But don’t change the channel just yet; an RKO may just come out of nowhere.
Edge
From one superstar of the Rated RKO to another, time flies. Edge is one of the most prominent names to come out of the WWE and has left a legacy that the fans are still hungry for. With doctors asking him to stay away from the ring due to neck and Shoulder issues, one may not be surprised if the Rated R Superstar wants to have his flowers. “Spearing superstars off ladders and barricades is what caused so much sprain,” he once famously recalled. If not for injuries, the 49-year-old superstar insists he would be in the title picture all year.
Rey Mysterio
Coming to the biggest superstar in the WWE, one who showed everyone that dreams do come true, one who should show everyone that size doesn’t matter, and the one who was shown his place by his son, Rey Mysterio has come a long way. From wrestling in various different countries to headlining main events, the little man from the WWE has nothing to prove. His offspring and prodigy, Dominic Mysterio, is one of the highest merchandise sellers in WWE today. It just goes on to show that the master of the 619 does not need any help with the family bills and might just be around till this year’s Christmas so that his son’s career gets the lift that he so wishes.
Trish Stratus
If you are from the attitude era, you know Trish Stratus. Trish, throughout the years, has kept the fans on their feet and was responsible for the sharp rise in the divas division. She was known for her agility in the ring and her love relationship with Christian Cage and a certain Mickey James. But in 2023, it would be safe to ask her to hang her boots, as age is something you don’t fight against. A sad incident occurred last week when her match with Becky Lynch was cancelled on the SummerSlam card, and it went on to show the lack of trust that the WWE top brass has in her.
Goldberg One superstar who certainly needs to retire for good by the end of this year is Goldberg. His credibility has taken a hit, and what he once was can never be replicated again, even by him. It might be hard to accept for the loyalists, but what else would you say to yourself when you see the Undertaker being botched into an almost life-ending Jack Hammer? Sources close to the WWE say that Bill Goldberg wants to stick around until his son comes into the WWE.
Honourable mention:
John Cena
It looks like a fairy tale every time John Cena is in a WWE ring. When he was here, nobody wanted him, and now that he is gone for good to Hollywood, we all crave and miss him. Big match John has left no stone unturned in his path, and anything written about this man would be futile, for he is arguably the biggest superstar this business has produced. But a few botox surgeries and hair transplants may tell us that our childhood and adulthood have come full circle.
