The Ascension’s Victor does not want a WWE return

2 years ago By Sports Desk

In a recent interview, former WWE Superstar Viktor, formerly of The Ascension, expressed his thoughts on a potential return to WWE and his current relationship with wrestling.

Viktor mentioned that he had previously thought about the idea of returning to WWE but has no desire to do so at the moment. While the financial aspect might be appealing, he considers the cost that comes with it, likely referring to the demands and pressures of working for a big wrestling company like WWE.

Viktor says no to potential WWE return

Reflecting on his time with WWE, Viktor felt that the company did everything to make people forget about their achievements as the longest-reigning NXT Tag Team Champions. He observed that other wrestlers from their era, like The Headbangers, were getting Legends deals, but he doesn’t expect the same recognition for himself and his former tag team partner, Konnor.

Viktor also shared that he has only recently started watching wrestling again after feeling burnt out. He mentioned the passing of AEW’s Brodie Lee (formerly known as Luke Harper in WWE) and how the handling of his death by certain people within WWE turned him off from the company. While he doesn’t personally have anything against WWE Chairman Vince McMahon, the experience made him reluctant to return under the current circumstances.

He stated that he doesn’t watch WWE regularly but hasn’t ruled out the possibility of a return entirely. If WWE were to offer him a lucrative deal, he might consider it, but he doesn’t foresee that happening.

Viktor and Konnor, known as The Ascension, were drafted to the main roster in 2016 but struggled to make an impact on the main stage and were eventually released in 2019 after a lackluster run.

Overall, Viktor seems content with his current situation and isn’t actively seeking a return to WWE. However, as the old adage goes, in professional wrestling, you never say never, and if the right circumstances and offer were to arise, who knows what the future might hold.
