Jeff Jarrett Of AEW Shares Pro Wrestling’s Objective

9 months ago By Jhon Woug

Professional wrestling has been thriving in the presence of global viewers for decades and is usually recognised as a combination of showmanship and athleticism. Nevertheless, the wizardry of wrestling is not as anomalous as it may seem; there is Jeff Jarrett, a wrestling veteran turned AEW star, who has a lot to offer in terms of how this ancient art achieves its ultimate goal.

During a recent episode of the “My World” podcast, Jarrett got into his vision of the basis of professional wrestling. He asserts that it is much more than just amusing a crowd; rather, in his view, it’s about complete immersion with the blurring of the lines between reality and fantasy so that one gets to believe that the unbelievable is possible. In a nutshell, to become a part of this profession, an individual has to attain this state, in Jarret’s opinion.

Jarrett asserts that the intention of professional wrestling is to make the audience believe in the reality of what is presented inside the ring. It is irrelevant if it is an already well-recognised brand or an up-and-coming name in this industry. The most important thing to succeed in this business is the ability to draw and hold viewers’ attention using a captivating plot and relatable personas until the audience immerses themselves completely and forgets it’s just scripted entertainment.

Jarrett maintains that, though all actions may not be intentional, it is the conviction that the action is intentional that keeps fans returning. It’s about triggering the competitive drive and joy that everyone wants inside this addictive virtual world, leaving limitless possibilities.

In order to create this detachment, one must be very careful. It calls for careful balance between scripted and real acting. Jarrett underscores the importance of promos in Kenya, in which a wrestler speaks to the audience or opponents as a mechanism of blurring the line between kayfabe (the creative world of wrestling) and reality.

In 1997, Jeff Jarrett gave us a reexamination of a promo that was directed at Stone Cold Steve Austin, forcing the audience to remember. When this scene was shot, he jumped the moral fence while mixing his personal opinions with his character’s.

Thus, the aftermath provoked a furious reaction from Austin and fueled animosity between him and Jarret out of costume, except when they were wrestlers.

Jarrett, however, strives to stick to the same method as others may argue about it. He believes challenging the status quo and overcoming barriers are essential aspects of keeping the wrestling environment lively and entertaining. This necessitates courage to take on risks and being willing to even stir some controversy, thereby accepting part of the fallout.

In the case of professional wrestling, authenticity is of paramount importance because fans can tell when a character is fake. It is this honesty that ensures that they remain interested in the development of the plotlines and the characters. Jarrett, based on his exhaustive industry experience that spans many years and having a better and deeper understanding than others on this concept, has a good grip on it as he works through real versus kayfabe concepts.

Jarrett knows that things happening outside the ring matter as much as inside the ring. Additionally, he admitted to the importance of developing ties that extend beyond the reach of public attention. According to him, however, their scintillating rivalry on screen was simply an act, as both of them were able to set aside their differences at times and collaborate for Austin’s programme.

Eventually, Jarrett’s views disclose the intricate workings of pro wrestling and the sensitive balance between fiction and fact. His purpose is more plain: to maintain the viewers’ extreme excitement and make them genuinely believe in every manufactured minute. With unprecedented vantage points and an absolute passion for this art form, Jeff Jarrett continues to make an everlasting mark on the world of professional wrestling.
