Artem Vakhitov Secures First MMA Victory Post-Injury In Pereira-Slayer Debut

1 years ago By Jhon Woug

After recovering from injury, Artem Vakhitov achieves his first victory in MMA with a debut win against Pereira-Slayer. The accomplished kickboxer from Russia, Artem Vakhitov, has recently achieved a remarkable milestone in his burgeoning MMA profession. This particular triumph was all the more significant because it followed an upsetting initial defeat and demonstrated that setbacks are merely opportunities for this resolute athlete to succeed. At the World Ertaymash Federation (WEF) tournament held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, Vakhitov displayed great resilience by emerging victorious with a TKO against Siyavush Salokhov.

Vakhitov’s MMA career kicked off on a sour note as he suffered an elbow dislocation in his debut fight against Ashraf Bashandy, which lasted only 55 seconds. Despite the setback, Vakhitov remained undeterred, having been the last person to defeat Alex Pereira in kickboxing. He returned with full determination and exhibited great skill by securing a definitive win over Salokhov after that incident.

The moment that transformed the course of the battle occurred when Salokhov tried to execute a takedown but was quickly overpowered by his opponent, former Glory champion Vakhitov. Taking advantage of this turn in events, Vakhitov positioned himself on top and pummelling Salokhov with an onslaught of punches until the referee put an end to it all. This triumph was a testament to Vakhitiv’s agility and toughness within MMA circles.

Prior to entering the world of MMA, Vakhitov had already made a name for himself in kickboxing with an outstanding record of 23-6. One significant achievement was defeating his opponent ‘Poatan’ (Alex Pereira) twice consecutively in back-to-back bouts. The first battle resulted in Pereira narrowly retaining his Glory light heavyweight title through a split-decision win, but Vakhitov emerged victorious during their second encounter by securing the majority decision and claiming the 209-pound championship belt.

With Vakhitov’s shift from kickboxing to MMA, it is inevitable that his past rival, Alex Pereira, will be a topic of comparison. In their respective debuts for the sport, both fighters had hindrances; Pereira succumbed to submission in Jungle Fight 82 back in 2015, while Vakhitov dealt with an elbow dislocation. Nevertheless, what followed was Tellis’ inspiring journey within the world of MMA, which demonstrated true fighter resilience and determination.

Poatan, also known as Pereira, achieved an impressive MMA record by winning two-division championship titles in the UFC. Among his victories are notable wins over fighters like Israel Adesanya and Jiri Prochazka. His inspiring story implies that Vakhitov has a chance to follow a similar trajectory in the world of mixed martial arts.

As the focus sharpens on Vakhitov’s progress in MMA, conjecture arises regarding his upcoming pursuits. It remains uncertain if he will tread the path of Pereira and attain a cherished position within the UFC. Meanwhile, Pereira appears unperturbed by possible rematches, while rumours circulate about prospective bouts such as an encounter with Tom Aspinall in the heavyweight division or a light heavyweight duel against Israel Adesanya.

Their early MMA paths reveal intriguing similarities, as Vakhitov and Pereira both encountered initial obstacles but emerged even stronger. Their resilience and determination were on full display. With a recent triumph under his belt, Vakhitov appears to be following in the footsteps of Pereira’s post-debut loss comeback story.

As pundits mull over Vakhitov’s destiny in the MMA circuit, it is impossible not to compare his journey with that of ‘Poatan,’ who has enjoyed an illustrious career. The fact that these erstwhile kickboxing adversaries share a history adds another level of excitement to any impending confrontations between them. However, only time will reveal if Vakhitov takes after Pereira’s fate in later years. In the meantime, his recent revival victory exemplifies his talent, persistence, and agility when faced with challenges in mixed martial arts, a world known for its ruthlessness.
