5 WWE Superstars Who Are Currently Dealing With Injuries

8 months ago By Jhon Woug

There are many Superstars who are not able to perform at the top level due to obvious reasons. The schedule and training take a hard grasp on the body and Wrestling being a body contact sport, has it’s own share of superstars who are out of action . On that note, here are 5 WWE Superstars Who Are Currently Dealing With Injuries

Seth Rollins:

Over the past few weeks, Shinsuke Nakamura has made it public knowledge that Seth Rollins isn’t performing at full capacity due to a back injury. Despite his injury, Rollins has effectively managed to control the situation, securing a victory over Nakamura at the Payback event on September 2. Rollins also provided an update on his physical condition during his appearance on WWE’s The Bump, stating the following:

“It is what it is. All of us have something. We’ve all got some sort of nagging injury; we’ve all got something that’s pulling at us, telling us we need to slow down. That’s just part of the game. I know that. Everyone knows that. Now, my injury might be a little more serious than some people think, but I know how to manage it. I told Shinsuke, I told the world; I won the World Heavyweight Championship with a broken back. I’ve been defending the World Heavyweight Championship with a broken back. So even though Shinsuke’s the first guy to really target that injury, I feel like I know what it takes to manage it. I’ll be just fine, I promise you. I promise everybody out there who’s concerned I’m going to be fine. I promise you guys, I will be fine. The championship is in good hands.

When questioned about whether being a champion wrestling through an injury is a point of pride, Rollins acknowledged a sense of pride in the accomplishment. However, he emphasised that he is cautious about jeopardising his future in the process.

“That’s a tricky question. In some sense, yes. Obviously, there’s some pride in being able to work through pain and suffering. But at the end of the day, I know the risks. I know what can happen if something goes wrong, so it’s 50/50. I love being someone who can push through boundaries, push limits, and all that stuff. But at the same time, I don’t want to risk my future. I don’t want to put myself in a position where it’s going to be difficult for me to have a life with my family in the future. I don’t want to end up in a wheelchair when I’m 50 years old. So I’ve got to tow that line. I’ve got to be very careful with how I handle this and how I mitigate whatever’s going on back there to make sure I can still give the audience what they deserve, give the championship what it deserves, and make sure that I’m going to be okay for the future.”

Randy Orton:

Randy Orton has suffered a back fusion injury since May 2022 and is out for an indefinite period. In August 2023, it was confirmed that he was not cleared. However, he has since been seen around WWE’s Performance Centre, so hopes are high for a return.

Orton has forged a remarkable career marked by triumphs, championships, and steadfast resilience in the face of injuries. The “Apex Predator” has demonstrated time and again that he is not only one of the most successful WWE superstars but also a true warrior who refuses to yield to physical setbacks.

Randy Orton’s journey to WWE superstardom began with his debut in 2002, and it didn’t take long for him to capture the attention of fans and the wrestling world. His early years were defined by his smooth in-ring style, impressive athleticism, and a character that evolved into the cold and calculating “Legend Killer.” Orton’s ability to adapt and evolve allowed him to ascend the ranks rapidly.

Orton’s success is best measured by his extensive championship reigns. He has held the WWE World Heavyweight Championship multiple times, solidifying his status as a top-tier talent. His charisma and in-ring skills have made him a beloved fan favourite and a dominant heel, a versatility few in WWE history can match.

However, no wrestling career is without its share of setbacks, and Randy Orton is no exception. Throughout his illustrious career, he has grappled with various injuries, each posing a threat to his in-ring future. One of the most significant injury challenges Orton faced was a severe shoulder injury in 2008, which necessitated surgery and kept him out of action for months.

Perhaps the most notable instance of his resilience came in 2015, when he suffered a shoulder injury yet again. Orton underwent surgery and faced an uncertain recovery period. Remarkably, he made a surprise return at the Royal Rumble in 2016, much to the delight of fans, demonstrating his remarkable work ethic and determination.

Orton’s resilience in the face of injuries has become one of his defining traits. He doesn’t merely recuperate; he comes back stronger and more determined than ever. His ability to overcome adversity and continue performing at a high level is a testament to his unwavering dedication to the sport and his fans.

One of the most remarkable aspects of Randy Orton’s career is his ability to maintain a successful balance between staying in peak physical condition and preserving his longevity. He acknowledges the importance of taking time off to heal properly, ensuring that he can continue to deliver top-notch performances for years to come. This mindful approach to his well-being has allowed him to navigate his wrestling career with both success and sustainability.

As Randy Orton continues to cement his legacy in WWE, his story serves as an inspiration to aspiring wrestlers and a testament to the indomitable human spirit. His relentless pursuit of excellence, combined with his ability to bounce back from injuries, has solidified his place among the all-time greats of professional wrestling. His journey reminds us that success is not just about winning championships but also about having the strength to overcome obstacles.

Orton’s success in WWE is not solely defined by championship reigns and accolades but also by his remarkable resilience in the face of injuries. He is a true testament to the enduring spirit of a professional wrestler, demonstrating that setbacks are opportunities for comebacks. As long as Randy Orton is in the ring, the WWE Universe can expect not just excellence but also the unwavering spirit of a true champion.

Sonya Deville:

Prior to SummerSlam, Sonya Deville sustained an injury to her ribs, and it was subsequently confirmed that she had suffered a torn ACL. As a result, Deville will be taking an indefinite hiatus from WWE.

Sonya Deville, known for her toughness, resilience, and unique charisma, has captured the hearts of WWE fans around the world. Her journey in professional wrestling is marked by a remarkable commitment to her craft and an unwavering determination to overcome adversity. Sonya Deville’s recent battle with an ACL injury has only deepened the admiration and support she receives from the WWE Universe, which anxiously awaits her triumphant return to the squared circle.

Deville, whose real name is Daria Berenato, made her WWE debut in 2015 as part of the sixth season of WWE Tough Enough. Although she didn’t win the competition, her impressive performance earned her a WWE contract. She started her journey in NXT, where she honed her wrestling skills and developed the persona that would make her a standout talent.

Deville’s in-ring style and persona are reflective of her real-life toughness. She portrays a no-nonsense, MMA-inspired character who is unafraid to take on any opponent. Her fighting spirit and willingness to face challenges head-on have made her a beloved figure in WWE.

Deville reportedly tore her ACL on July 28 during her match against Bianca Belair and Charlotte Flair. The injury not only put her wrestling career on hold but also presented a daunting rehabilitation journey. ACL injuries are known for their gruelling recovery process, demanding not only physical strength but also mental fortitude.

Throughout her career, Sonya Deville has cultivated a dedicated fan base that deeply appreciates her contributions to the world of professional wrestling. This support has only intensified since her injury. WWE fans have taken to social media and other platforms to express their well wishes, encouraging words, and hopes for her speedy recovery.

Sonya Deville’s journey to recovery is a testament to her resilience and determination. She has shared glimpses of her rehabilitation process on social media, giving fans a glimpse into the hard work and dedication required to return to peak physical condition. Her transparency and vulnerability have resonated with fans, further strengthening their bond with her.

As Sonya Deville continues her rehabilitation, the anticipation of her return to WWE grows with each passing day. WWE fans eagerly await the moment when she steps back into the ring to resume her career. Her tenacity and commitment to her craft are undeniable, and there is little doubt that she will come back stronger than ever.

While the road to recovery may be arduous, Sonya Deville’s future in WWE remains promising. Her unique character, compelling in-ring skills, and the unwavering support of the WWE Universe are all factors that bode well for her career. When she eventually makes her triumphant return, it will undoubtedly be a momentous occasion celebrated by fans worldwide.

Liv Morgan:

Morgan first encountered shoulder trouble during a WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship match that took place on the May 12 episode of “WWE SmackDown.” While Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez successfully defended their title against Dakota Kai and Bayley, both Morgan and Kai left the match nursing injuries.

According to a new Twitter post from the former “WWE SmackDown” Women’s Champion, it’s possible she’ll look a bit different when she returns.

Braun Strowman:

The formidable force in WWE, known as the “Monster Among Monsters,” has become a fixture on SmackDown, yet his journey has been marred by a series of injuries.

Following a period of absence due to a surgical procedure, it appears that Braun Strowman is now gearing up for his return to peak physical condition.

Earlier this year, during a SmackDown appearance, Braun Strowman endured a significant onslaught, coming dangerously close to injuring Ricochet.

This incident left fans perplexed, wondering how such an error could occur. The explanation eventually surfaced: Strowman had suffered a concussion, necessitating time off to recover from his injury.

Upon his return, Strowman’s unfortunate streak with injuries persisted, ultimately leading to another hiatus from in-ring competition. As previously reported, Braun Strowman found himself once more on the sidelines, nursing an injury.

Subsequently, he underwent a successful neck fusion surgery earlier this year. Since then, Strowman has been diligently prioritising his health while keeping himself occupied with various endeavours.

On his Instagram account, Braun Strowman shared an image of himself in the gym, signalling his readiness to shed weight and regain his monstrous form. In doing so, he provided fans with a glimpse of his progress and determination to return to the pinnacle of his physical prowess. He took to social media, saying:

When his partner Ricochet was asked about him, he said:

“He’s doing great; he needed a little surgery, but he’s doing great. He’s recuperating; he’s doing fine. I know he’s ready to get back; I can only imagine he’s ready to get back. I miss my tag partner. I think we had something good going on. I think the fans were getting into it pretty well. Obviously, I want to be tag team champion, and who better to have on your side than the biggest man on the roster? I can’t wait for him to get back. He’s doing great.”

Braun Strowman, known as the “Monster Among Monsters,” has encountered a tumultuous journey marked by injuries. Despite his consistent presence on WWE’s SmackDown, Strowman’s career has been punctuated by periods of recovery due to surgical procedures and injuries. He notably suffered a concussion and underwent successful neck fusion surgery, forcing him to temporarily step away from in-ring action. Strowman’s commitment to his health and his determination to regain peak physical condition have become evident through his gym-focused Instagram posts, demonstrating his unwavering dedication to returning to his monstrous form.
