1 years ago By Sports Desk

Every wrestling superstar dreams of achieving a remarkable feat in their career. WWE wrestlers don’t just aim to be World Champions; they also aspire to become Grand Slam Champions. But what exactly is a WWE Grand Slam Champion? The WWE Grand Slam Championship isn’t just a regular title; it symbolizes the highest level of success in WWE, a recognition of a wrestler’s outstanding achievements and impact in the world of wrestling. It stands as proof of a wrestler’s ability to conquer different divisions, overcome tough challenges, and leave their mark in WWE’s history.

The WWE Grand Slam Championship is the ultimate achievement in professional wrestling. To become a Grand Slam Champion, a wrestler must win four specific titles: the WWE Championship or Universal Championship, the Intercontinental Championship, the United States Championship, and a Tag Team Championship.

This achievement showcases a wrestler’s versatility, skill, and mastery across various aspects of the sport. Only a select few Superstars, both past and present, have earned this prestigious title, solidifying their status as legends in the industry. The WWE Grand Slam Championship serves as a testament to a wrestler’s lasting impact and success in WWE.

Now, let’s take a look at five current Superstars who have achieved Grand Slam status:

1. Seth Rollins

In 2012, Seth Rollins made his debut on the main roster as part of “The Shield,” alongside Dean Ambrose (also known as Jon Moxley) and Roman Reigns. Seth quickly rose through the ranks, and it didn’t take him long to set his sights on achieving Grand Slam Champion status.

Seth Rollins became a Grand Slam Champion by winning the United States Championship (2015), Raw Tag Team Championship (2013, with Roman Reigns), Universal Championship (2019), and WWE Championship (2015). He is the 19th overall Grand Slam Champion.

Currently, Seth Rollins is embroiled in a rivalry on the Raw brand, where he’s defending the World Championship he holds against Shinsuke Nakamura.

2. The Miz

The Miz entered the wrestling scene after participating in the 2004 Tough Enough competition. He officially joined the main roster in 2006. With unwavering determination, the self-proclaimed “A-Lister” embarked on his journey to the pinnacle of success, triumphing over challenges and silencing his skeptics.

The Miz’s journey to becoming a Grand Slam Champion involved winning the United States Championship (2009), Intercontinental Championship (2012), Raw Tag Team Championship (2007, with John Morrison), SmackDown Tag Team Championship (2019, with Shane McMahon), and WWE Championship (2010). What sets him apart is that he’s a two-time Grand Slam Champion and the 14th overall.

Presently, The Miz finds himself in a heated rivalry with John Cena on the Smackdown brand. Before this, he had a short-lived feud with LA Knight.

3. AJ Styles

In 2016, the remarkable AJ Styles, known as “The Phenomenal,” made an electrifying WWE debut during the Royal Rumble match, leaving fans in awe. Before gracing the WWE stage, AJ had an illustrious career with WCW, NWA, ROH, TNA/IMPACT Wrestling, and NJPW.

Throughout his time in the company, AJ’s journey has been truly extraordinary, living up to his “Phenomenal” nickname. There’s no sign of him slowing down anytime soon.

AJ Styles, achieved Grand Slam status by winning the United States Championship (2017), Intercontinental Championship (2020), Raw Tag Team Championship (2021, with Omos), and WWE Championship (2016). He is the only wrestler to achieve this in both TNA/IMPACT Wrestling and WWE.

Currently, AJ Styles is locked in a heated rivalry with Jimmy Uso from The Bloodline. In their most recent showdown on Smackdown, AJ emerged victorious.

4. Roman Reigns

In just a little over two years, “The Tribal Chief” Roman Reigns has risen to become the company’s biggest star since John Cena. Roman Reigns made his debut on the main roster in 2012, standing side by side with Dean Ambrose (also known as Jon Moxley) and Seth Rollins as part of “The Shield.”

Following the trio’s separation in 2014, Reigns embarked on a controversial journey to ascend to the pinnacle of singles competition.

“The Tribal Chief” Roman Reigns became a Grand Slam Champion by winning the United States Championship (2016), Intercontinental Championship (2017), Raw Tag Team Championship (2013, with Seth Rollins), WWE Championship (2015), and Universal Championship (2018). He’s the 7th overall Grand Slam Champion.

Currently, Roman Reigns leads “The Bloodline,” a faction that includes Paul Heyman and Solo Sikoa. He recently defended his Undisputed Universal Championship in a successful match against Jey Uso at Summerslam.

5. Finn Balor

The reason we’re highlighting Finn Balor in last is because he’s the most recent addition to the Grand Slam Winners.

Finn Balor is an incredibly talented Irish professional wrestler known for his exceptional in-ring skills, athleticism, and charismatic personality. Even before his WWE career, he gained widespread popularity as the founder of the highly acclaimed pro-wrestling faction known as the “Bullet Club.”

Balor’s journey to becoming a Grand Slam Champion culminated when he and his partner, Damian Priest, captured the Undisputed WWE Tag Team titles. This victory secured his place among the elite group of current roster stars who hold Grand Slam Champion status. At the Payback event, Balor and Priest defeated Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn to achieve this remarkable feat.

Finn Balor became the First Ever Universal Champion (2016), Intercontinental Champion (2019), United States Champion (2022), and Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champion (2023). He is the 17th Grand Slam Champion under the current format and 24th overall.

Currently, Finn Balor and his stable, The Judgment Day, are engaged in a rivalry with former champions Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn.
